WOW… 5000! Congratulations to Mr G. and Sunshine… one of the masters of cache hides too!

Awww… Hack1of2… really would like to jump in the suitcase. I miss going to TX now that Mom/Stepdad sold their winter home there 3 years ago.

in reply to: WGA 10TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY!! #1960143

Really sorry I can’t make the 10th anniversary event… a family event on that day. Missing the camp-out too… even though these days I prefer motel-style camping!

Isn’t the picture of the spring house in Gov Dodge state park? Sure looks like it… was there about a week ago… but did not find the cache! And it was early evening w/ sun going down so we didn’t have time to look for any other.

Congrats… and for undertaking this cache so early in your geo-career! I’ve got this cache on my list for a milestone… was gonna do it for #1500 but I didn’t plan well. Maybe for #1600!

in reply to: Caching on Memorial Day #1960365

On Memorial Day I suggest a visit to Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery GC79B7

    it’s emotional and very humbling.

in reply to: Logging DNF’s #1960299

I usually log all DNFs when I’ve searched for at least 20 minutes in all places where it may be… and expanded the search beyond 20 feet in case the coordinates are a bit off. Sometimes I find that others find the cache after I’ve been there… sooo I know it’s me… not a muggled container… and I have to revisit.

Usually if I’ve been pressed for time or the weather is turning nasty I don’t post a DNF but instead post a note to say I’ll be back to search on another day.

in reply to: RAC stairway open! #1960243

Thanks for the info… I was at the picnic and wished the stairs were open. Guess I’ll have to plan a trip to Central WI soon.

in reply to: Back to where it all began for 2500 #1960218

WOW… #2500 already! Are you in a race with Hack1/2???? Congrats on the milestone.

in reply to: Something to think about when doing CITO #1960234

OMG… what fun is it to harm people???? As a sensible (one that practices common sense) person I sometimes feel I’m living in some bizzarro world… a far cry from the pranks of yesteryear… toilet papering yards!

in reply to: Tom K, Captain and Mate in the "Prime"light!! #1960131

Great article! And I agree… what would I, a retiree do if I didn’t geocache???

in reply to: Green County Barn Quilt Series #1960151

I’ve had this series on the radar screen since it was placed… and now finally I’ve made plans with LOST Mom and family this weekend to do at least one segment of the series… really looking forward to it!

We purposely try to avoid a race type Bash for the reasons stated above. People tend to speed (a few people got pulled over the first year), park where they shouldn’t, not put the caches back properly, and try to cheat. It is better to keep it a fun, relaxed family-type weekend. If you want a race type cache, check out the cache series “The Amazing Race” by Dr. Dolittle and Goldie Diggers. They always put out amazing stuff and I am sure this will be Amazing – GC3BQ68 😀

Well stated! I’d rather enjoy a family-fun weekend… Why rush from place to place? Life goes by too fast as it is.
As for FTFs… I’ve had just 4… none planned and all happened just by the luck of being in the right place at the right time.

in reply to: My first 100 #1958691

WOW… great reaching 100… as I recall you marked 29 on 2/29. You’ve really been out there caching!

AS ADVERTISED!! IF YOU DON’T WANT TO DO THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE LAME CACHES

THEN JUST DON’T FIND THEM! SHOW US YOUR CREATIVITY AND HIDE MORE THAN 3.

Tough crowd down there in the real “PnG Capitol of Wisconsin”. Can’t wait to get down there and grab all of those lame caches.

AGREE… looking forward to the series of P&Gs “down south” 🙂
