Congrats Kim and John… woo-hoo soon it will be 2K. Always love your posted photos.
IMO TFTC… as bad a pasting the same message for every cache found on a specific day.
Though I have pasted a portion of my log in same day finds… I usually add to and change comments related to each specific cache. And on fun or unusual hides I put a bit of thought in to what I post; sharing the excitement of the find with the cache owner is part of the fun 😉
This is my entertainment/leisure expenses… don’t go out to movies… nothing coming out of Hollywood (‘cept 1 or 2 releases) worth my time or money.
My ol’ Saturn gets fairly good MPG. Plenty of caches nearby home I’ve yet to find… and will try to grab 1-2 when I head out to visit Mom in assisted living in Germantown (rich area for caches 😉
Arriving earlier in afternoon with caching buddy salyforth… camping on double site w/ LOST Mom family… likely they will be arriving early in afternoon also. It will take me all afternoon to get the tent set up 😉
Nice new look for the site… I like!!
Smaller events with newly placed caches are easier to find and log a FTF… for example the recent 10/10/10 Hartford event. Found 2 FTFs… well actually 3 though I shared the find with a fellow cacher.
Heading to the nearest caches from event location often results in several caching teams at GZ the same time. Try grabbing the further away hides… worked for me in Hartford.
Chili-dump is a good idea. The non-prof I work for has one annually in Dec… we have two kettles… the hot stuff and one for milder version. Also all of the add-ons… shredded cheese, onions, corn chips, etc.
Missed this event last year… hope to get to the chili feasting this year!
Yahoo! Great to hear the location. Good choice! How many days til’ Spring?
The other thing about doing WSQs in the Winter… often cannot get to GZ because of depth of snow cover on the ground. Hate waitin’ for Spring in January/February… since WSQs are my favorite!
BTW… Anyone know that 10-10-10 is also International Earth Cache Day:
http://www.earthcache.org/I’m in a tizzy as to which Flash event to get to??? Closer one is Hartford… though the crazy hat in Manitowoc sounds like fun.
Did when I first started out… don’t know why I stopped??? DUH!
My caching buddy (salyforth) and I had a really great time. Enjoyed hiking the trails (salyforth says we walked more than 12,800 steps!) and chance to discover the beauty of Roche-A-Cri.
My first picnic… looking forward to 2011 camp-out event since I missed this year’s at Bong and remembered the fun of High Cliff (despite frigid temps!)
Thanks to the WGA board for planning and staging the event… and big thanks to the many volunteers who helped with registration and sales.
Fun reading the previous posts!
My name came as a result of Going Along on cache outings with LOSTMomof2 who added one more to the family and has become LOSTMom… hence GrannyGoesAlong. Makes for a long name to sign… sometimes it’s just GGA on the log.
Really wanted to use a nickname… and what’s on my car license plate: joyzie … unbelievable… it was already in use?!?
