It does look like ice scraper… that someone possibly used to stick in to the pipe… to get at cache?? Pipe filled with water and froze over winter.
I agree w/Lostby7. Not sure I want to hear beer-guzzlin’ drunks all night and neither will parents of younger children.
Thanks for this link. I work for a non-profit and we are always looking for fundraising ideas… our grant $$ seem to shrink each year.
Thanks for the link… I bookmarked for future.
Livin’ in the Mac world…Safari is the best for Mac!
Actually I did not yet “organize” my last two…NO make that last three hobbies… most of the caching “gear” is near the computer… most of the time. And, I can pretty much grab the bag, GPS at a moment’s notice.
I’d be happy to bring a crock of baked beans… NAH… you guys already have plenty of hot air in you!!
SE is great… near to home and there are plenty more for me to find. However, I do enjoy Central part of state… I’ve been covering the the distance between Milwaukee & Waushara counties… A BIG Thank You to JimandLinda and Marc 54140 for the WSQs… have many more of those to discover also.
Thanks Lostby7… for the link and…I’m looking forward to visiting the EC to claim my “found it”. I’ve been to the quarry park many, many times… it’s a great picnic area for families
I noticed Waushara county was not on the list of having an EC… Anyone know who is working on getting the Redgranite quarry up as an active EC?
I caught a brief headline in the Waushara Argus Dec 31 issue (local weekly newspaper) that it’s been approved as an Earthcache site.Just wonderin’ cuz I had thought of this site a while back. I’m contemplating placing an EC (of course I may need some guidance from the expert EC owners) This area is very familiar to me… Mom lives across from Silver Lake outside of Wautoma… and have spent many summers in Mt Morris for I guess about 50 years. Gosh, has it been that long!!!
Birdin’
In winter I use my slow cooker to do a lot of soups… was doing this even before I began caching. I then freeze lots of smaller containers to do a quick grab for lunches in the morning, since I’m always in a rush!
Two of my very favorites… which really take very little in the way of prep time: Navy bean soup and White Chili with Chicken. I do others… Split Pea and a time consuming from scratch Roasted Red Pepper Soup. ( I don’t do vegetable soup… I hated it even as a child… I have my reasons!)
Another easy in the slow cooker…Shredded Beef (great for sandwiches) a roast beef …add beef bouillion cubes (can’t recall how many) and water… cook all day 6-8 hours… then shred and serve on buns. Also, invest in a George Forman grill … it’s the quickest way I know to make salmon, burgers or anything grilled!
GrannyGoesAlong (aka Joyce)Absolutely loved the song… especially the reindeer soloist! Way better than “Santa Baby” by Madonna; which I must have heard at least 10,000 times (at Kohl’s)… way sick of that “song?”
Merry Christmas.
Our gag gift for many years was a hideous, pink ceramic sleigh with Santa… each year someone in the family unwrapped the sleigh…we added stickers and signs to it… it even made the rounds on birthdays… for wedding shower gifts, etc… until my son was divorced… guess the ex got the sleigh!
Traditionally we hide a pickle on the Christmas tree (not a real one… an ornament). The child who finds the pickle gets a special gift. My kids loved this growing up… now the grandkids search however the 10-year old has an advantage over the others… they’re all younger than 4!
I yelled at my neighbor because the voices told me to… and Big Bird said to and he’s my leader. (my shirt is red & gray!) 😀
If I wasn’t on South Beach… I’d eat Pumpkin! 😕 Not bakin’ it this year I’m buying one of the fabulous pies from Highland Park Cafe… a neighborhood coffee cafe with great pies, coffee, etc… and the owner is neighbor to LOSTMomof2 😀
Happy Thanksgiving! -
