Yeah, I really think the beauty of the hobby is the fact that we’ve seen so many amazing things along the way. There are so many places that we would have never known about had we not gone looking for a geocache in that area.

Good stuff. The funny thing is, if you asked me right now how many caches we’ve done – I couldn’t tell you if I tried. I have no idea.

Agreed though that the hobby is different things to different people. Heck, just the classification alone is different. I call it hobby. Others have called it a game or a sport. I’ve noticed that there is a competitive switch in many people that they simply have no control over. I used to roll my eyes at that. Now I simply shrug my shoulders! LOL

Great point though – it is important for us to remember the journey!

Thanks BTT – That’s helpful. I really like the idea of giving them away as presents. That would be a great way to get young nieces and nephews into the hobby.

So it is something you release then?

I wasn’t joking… literally, what is the purpose of a geocoin? They look great. Is it simply a keepsake? Do they double as some type of bug?

I’m sure I’m not the only in these forums that is interested in purchasing one but wants to know what they are?

    What is a geocoin?

I was up in the area this weekend doing a bit of hunting. I stopped by the lake as it is a favorite ice fishing spot of mine. What a neat experience. In the places I was, I was able to walk out quite a distance. However, I could see where certain areas could be dangerous. (Use common sense…)

Here are some pictures from my video camera (these were digital images from the videotape so excuse the quality…)

I guess by “continental USA” I meant the 48 congruent states…

Here is a copy of our BLOG that we created out west…

If you have a laptop – I highly recommend the DELORME mapping software. It hooks right up to your GPS and you will always know where you are. On our trek west this summer we used that and didn’t take a single paper map with us.

Thanks Beast – I guess we were close then! That was Ruby Beach at Olympic National Park in WA. Absolutely beautiful.

Thanks a shame. That jumbo ammo can was really decked out with the lights.

Great cache and a neat area.

Just watched the trailer (why are they still called trailers?) Looks good. I’l plunk down $9.50 (or whatever they charge for movies these days) to see this one…

More reasons for “members only” caches…

Yeah… I had my “Walt Disney World Express” disappear a couple of years ago from the first cache I put it in. My other three railroad “express” train cars made it to their destinations though – so it wasn’t a complete loss.

LOL – As long as the bug is moving I could care less if the pope puts his name on it…

We’ve always skipped the cemetary caches. Nothing against those who do/like cemetary caches, they’re just not for us.

Cemetaries are like hospitals to me… I like to spend as little time in them as possible. I’ve been a pallbearer more times than I care to remember.

Hopefully the WGA can find some type of common ground here and it looks like Brian put out some great suggestions.

    Best to all…
