I just stopped by Clear Channel this afternoon to pick up a donation for an event I’m running this fall from a nice gal in promotions (not Geocaching Widow…but she’s a nice gal too).

Anyhow, there are several good places on their property to hide a temporary cache if the station wants a demonstration to see what it’s all about. There would be a good rock hide along their driveway, plus plenty of places to hide micros in the trees out in front. If they want a 5/5 cache, maybe they’ll let us put one on top of one of their radio towers in back…LOL!

Maybe WISN can turn geocaching as a positive thing by running a promotional contest, kind of like that Talk Star thing they’ve been doing. They can hide a cache somewhere in town with a big prize for the first finder, similar to the Magellan contest. Didn’t another radio station in town hide a bunch of money in a park & ride lot, and they gave clues until someone found it?

If WISN wants help from geocachers, I’d be glad to assist.

Don’t worry, we’ll have moonlight bowling! I’m working on the details and will be posted on the event page. I didn’t think Auntienae was going to activate it right away.

We were talking about the event earlier this week. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to help coordinate the whole event due to a committment I made already to announcing football games for my kids at school. At least I’ll be around later in the evening for bowling.

    Hey Cheesehead Dave-
I plan on attending and if everything goes as planned during the next week…this event will serve as my 1000th double milestone. I’ll celebrate it over a burger and maybe a shake or malt.

Way to go Window Licker! It was very entertaining to cache with you at the Gauntlet last weekend. Wow, that was a quick milestone, but it’s the BOB series so no wonder. Onward to 500!

Congrats on your milestone! I hope you win a door prize at the next event. If you don’t, I should have some crying tissues left for you from my prize.

Congrats Window Licker. Long time, no see! Too bad you couldn’t join us at the Stonehaven event. I’ll have to catch you another time.

Has anyone else had it happen where all the light bulbs are lit up after posting? It’s happened to me a couple of times. Just plain weird.

Sure it is, at least for one team, whose goal is to pass me up in TB’s by the end of the year.

Secret? HA! I figured it was going to happen. I already congratulated them on their 3000th in my congrats to them for their 2900th. Well, congrats again!

Congrats! I’m glad you found an easy way in to my Show Me The Money cache. (HA!) Don’t you just hate it when you bushwack your way in only to find an easy way in only a few feet from the cache?

They’ll be first in the state in no time! Congrats on your 2900th and early congrats on 3000, when you get it.

I just arrived home from my spring break road trip. Add 5 more states to my list:
Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.

Ewwwwwww, that’s gross! Actually, that would have made an interesting, but different, event. How many people actually showed up for that?

This is good to see. Also good to see that the Greenfield Parks & Recreation Dept., where I helped get geocaching classes started, was used as a reference and serves as a model for other rec. departments in the state. We know Craig Hoeppner through our contacts with other recreational professionals in the state. We had an individual contact our director at the Greenfield Parks & Recreation Dept. recently asking for permission to place a cache in one of our parks and he seemed responsive to it.

Great job so far on the website except for a couple of things. Bears and Vikings fans?!!! The Cubs I can handle, but not the other teams. At least JR is on my side with being a Packer Backer. I would love to be in the same room with these folks during a Packers-Bears or Packers-Vikings game. Bragging rights all the way! Say JJJTBA, should we have a football party this fall? Oh and one more thing, after the boys clean off their bedroom floor, they are welcome to come over to my place and clean.
