I just arrived home from my spring break road trip. Add 5 more states to my list:
Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.Congrats y’all! Onward to 300. Your puzzles are really giving me a run for my money.
April 16th is also Cache In Trash Out Day. Maybe you can tie in the event with helping clean up the park. Just a suggestion. If you post the event as a CITO on the geocaching.com website, I’m sure you will get lots of help.
I was finally able to get this one off of my list today. Found it with Uncle Fun this morning. The area was starting to get trashed with all of the foot traffic and some of the branches on the trees were being destroyed. Here’s a copy of my log:
N 42° 47.024 W 087° 46.066
Third time’s a charm! Came this morning with Uncle Fun and company. We were looking through the trees as usual when Uncle Fun noticed it. All I have to say is not to do this one alone, unless you’re Professor from Ecorangers. Bring something to help you assist retrieving the cache. Small children will work very nicely for this one. I’m glad to get this one off of my list. Very challenging hide![This message has been edited by whitnallgps (edited 03-25-2005).]
Great job Dave! Looks like the shoulder isn’t stopping you. Too bad I wasn’t with you on this milestone. I was having too much fun at Packers Fan Fest (and got to slap Brett Favre’s hand!!!). Congrats!
Congrats Tony, Rhonda, and Brendan-
They told me today at Badger Brunch that they were off to a “secret place.” Well, looks like they made it there. They haven’t logged it yet, but I hope it was a memorable cache. Welcome to the milennium club! I wonder if their 1000th was a micro in the snow? Whatever the container, I’m sure it was in plain view for them and hopefully IMPRESSIVE.[This message has been edited by whitnallgps (edited 02-20-2005).]
Well, I just checked their stats. They’ve already made it over 100 finds in a little less than 2 months. Summer vacation may be a busy caching season for them to get to a 1000 by the end of the year. Maybe get that cache placed early just in case.
Very nice, refreshing look to the site. I have yet to check out the bookmark feature, but it should come in handy for me, since I do cache out of state every once in awhile.
Did you notice the photos at the top of the gc.com home page? They are random photos from the photo galleries of cachers. New photos appear every time you refresh the page or click back to the gc.com home page. The photos are clickable and you can read the logs the photos were attached to and find out the team names. Just think, our mug shots could appear on there at some time!

Nice job Renee! Too bad I missed you and the girls down in Chicago last weekend by a couple of hours.
Hey Duane….congrats on the milestone!! It’s always great to go caching with you. Too bad I wasn’t with you to help celebrate your 1000th.
Watch out for them? I totally agree. I recently placed my Magic Squares cache and they should’ve been the first finders. The story on this one….I submitted the cache on a Saturday evening with the date hidden for the following Sunday. Everything was setup for the cache except I was doing some final maintenance on the cache container. I was caught off guard by the cache being approved very late that same evening, when normally caches I’ve placed take a day before being approved. I was debating going out at midnight to place the container, but figured people won’t see the listing this late at night and it will take them awhile to solve the puzzles. Therefore, I would get up early Sunday to put the container out. BOY WAS I WRONG! Team JJJTBA was out at 2:30 in the morning looking for my cache!!! Another cacher found the listing and was up until 3am solving the puzzles, which leads me to believe that geocachers are crazy people sometimes. Sleeping comes second to trying to be that first finder.
I met Team JJJTBA at a recent event. Very nice family. Glad to see that one of them is in the education profession too. Looking forward to meeting them again.

Welcome to the millennium club BQ! Good luck on your next 1000.
Ah, was that 700th in plain view? Congratulations from a fellow cabinmate. To answer Rhonda’s question, my guess would be Super Bowl, unless What’s Next pulled an all-nighter and got 50 of them before sunrise with plans for 50 more before the big game.

If you want signs of laughter, you should’ve been in Cabin 11 this past weekend at the Great Northwoods Event. You’ll have to read the cache page for yourself. More than just laughter, it was downright obnoxious….yet a lot of fun!
Great job Duane! Onward to 900.
