Welcome! You have the coolest geocaching team name. Where are you all from?

I had been under the impression that white deer were protected. But I was just told this weekend that they aren’t (due to CWD). Not sure if this applies to albino deer as well though. Sad — they are so lovely.
Now, I want to see an albino deer. I love the red eyes!

Thank you. Considering my goal for 2008 was 750 finds — I’m doing well.
I’m not opposed to getting to 1000 this year yet — it just might in fact take a few of those 50+ find days.

I think Lycoperdon did a big service by pointing out all of these that have been disabled for a long time. Maybe some of the caches around my area that have been disabled for a month, 2 months, even one that has been over 6 months on the disabled list will finally get something done with them.
Now if we could get Lycoperdon to go thru all the caches that have lots of dnf’s in a row and it pretty much looks like it is missing and mark them as needs archiving too that would be great. Since it looks like most of us are afraid to do it our selves.
It might seem like a big service, but when you get at least 100 SBA notes in your email (as reviewers do), it starts to look a lot like spam.
I’m not a very good cache hider myself (I do all those really typical hides), so I don’t have too many. I’ve had ideas for some more, but who knows if they will come to fruition.

And then there are those cache owners who delete your DNF logs…..

I’m so sorry to hear this….Stacy will be missed.
Godspeed Stacy.

Excellent! I’ve never been good at Spoonerisms myself, but really love to hear them!

I’m glad I could join you for a few of those! Congratulations!!

I got a used M500 Palm from eBay a while back (about 2 years). Paid about $50. It’s really been the best unit I’ve owned (I had a couple other, older models that didn’t seem to last very long). No real fancy bells and whistles — it gives me cache information, and that’s all I need.

It’s so easy to feel burnout about anything you’re passionate about. You devote so much of your “being” to something and eventually it loses some of its thrill. That can be anything: hobbies, work, people even…
Given the increase in costs for everything these days — gas, commodities, accomodations, etc.. — it’s hard to maintain as a die-hard cacher. It takes some of the joy out of the activity when it costs a chunk of change for a nice round trip caching day. We’ve already spent a good deal of money on the technology — who wants to spend even more to have fun?
Thankfully, at this time, geocaching isn’t going anywhere. If you need to take a break from it, it’ll just continue on its merry way. And when you come back to it, there’s a whole lot more, new caches to be found — some even close to you!! Relax, enjoy (but keep in touch).
I don’t know if I’ve ever been all that hard-core, but I have had periods where I don’t care if I find a geocache for quite a while. Then I get all itchy to seek a container in the woods again. For me, I am pretty busy with some of the underworkings of geocaching (with my involvement in the WGA, presentations, classes and reviewing) so it’s something I am at least thinking about on a daily basis. At this time, that works for me just fine.
Geocaching has levels — get out of it whatever you’d like, whenever you’d like.

I wish I could have showered myself — it’s sorely needed. I had to be up at 3am this morning for work. So although there was a shower, the shower that I needed was no longer available.
Hope you had an enjoyable shower. Guess I’ll have to wait until December for mine. And that one is always so cold!

Just PM me your address. Yay! Coin trade!

Welcome! Make yourself at home. You’re among friends.
