That’s a pretty one!
Canadian visitor has returned home, but we can certainly keep this thread going if folks find it helpful!

I read your posted link — scary! If you could somehow prove you were going to use it solely for geocaching…..?
Perhaps you can contact one of the geocachers who placed caches in Russia and borrow a GPSr from one of them?
(ooh, a travel agent you say? I must keep that in mind…..)

But you will have to take some time to figure out the logs others have left. And example:
January 23 by XXXXX (6 found)
Have found January, 22. A place excellent, a hiding place excellent, weather excellent. Will come behind a hiding place in the winter necessarily take with itself a ski.I’ve never cached in Russia, and doubt that I’d ever get the opportunity, but there are 33 caches in Russia to be found (looks like most are in English too!) GPSrs are mentioned, so they must not be illegal.
Check with a travel agent regarding this, or maybe some travel guides (specifically ones that address backpacking I think). Might be able to answer some of your questions.
Have fun!

I don’t think so. Mr. Condella has been as swept up by geocaching as we all were in the beginning, and just wants to share his excitement with others. Looks as though this cache is based on one he did in Arizona (placed for a geocaching segment on a local news channel). From reading some of his cache logs, you can tell he’s enthusiastic about the whole thing. He has met a few geocachers as well, and thinks we’re all great people (perhaps you’ll see him at an event in the future!)
I think it’s a great idea. Might go looking for the cache this weekend.

There are no shortcuts to any place worth goingMr. Condella caches as ……….(edited to give the man some privacy) but seems as though he’ll tell you if you ask.

I looked at this a couple months ago & thought it was a neat idea as well.

There are no shortcuts to any place worth goingThere are cookies at Mom & Dad’s — well, there were some when I left them. Can’t say how many will be left if you want to come get them (Dad likes cookies!!)

Thanks to both our approvers. We know what a big project this can be (there’s been lots of new caches published lately). We appreciate all that you do!

Thanks for all the help. She has been thinking of attending my event, and wanted to know if there were any waterfalls around Madison or Fort Atkinson. Looks like all the good waterfalls are more north (you lucky people!)

4146 — that’s with filtering. Gotta get my rear out there, eh?

There are no shortcuts to any place worth goingThank you!
Both are a little bit of a haul from Madison, but I think those might be the closest waterfalls.
I appreciate the help!!

According to the cache page — looks like about 28 attendees.

Hi there Voigt54601!
I checked the profile of the person that has your geocoin. He/she hasn’t visited gc.com since March 7, and is also in the army reserve (so maybe off doing something right now). The log does include intentions to drop off the coin too.
Typically, if I have a bug or coin for longer than 2 weeks, I let the owner know that I have it & will place it. Some people don’t. This person has been geocaching since 2001, so it’s not someone who doesn’t know the game.
Drop him/her a line and make sure all is well with your coin! That might help it get out right away.
