Oh good! I thought I had it all figured out, but over the past week I’ve realized just how much I don’t know about all this!

Between Baraboo and Sauk City on Hwy 12. Across from the old army munitions plant.
Dr.Evermore&Lady Eleanor cache is right next door. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=f5166b34-acf9-44b3-a70f-0f77 6d5d063c

$5 for either of the two common sizes, plus tons of various swag items.

Thanks for that — I couldn’t give any better directions than across from Badger Ammunition…..

I love Delaney’s! I used to go there as a child (with a friend’s father) and was just blown away by everything there! Now I just see all sorts of great swag, and fun stuff.

    Delaney’s has them for $5. Nice-sized.

I love the color screen. I have the 60CS. The compass is a pretty nice feature, but not necessary if you carry a compass. I don’t have any use for the altimeter. If you’re looking to save a few dollars, don’t worry about those features.

I think you’d need to run a new pocket query to do that…..?

This might be a better comparison photo — also a Luna Moth Caterpillar.

And this is what it becomes:

Participation in geocaching in Wisconsin and participation in the Wisconsin Geocaching Association are separate entities. Plenty of people are Wisconsin geocachers and have never visited the forums. This is just something that may or may not enhance your experience of geocaching in Wisconsin.

Compared to some of the other geocaching forums I have read, yes, Wisconsin is quite mild.

One thing I always keep in mind when I encounter anyone who doesn’t behave the way I would like: the only behavior you can change is your own. Don’t try to change others — it just won’t work. What can you do to make your experience more pleasant?

For some, it’s not reading a particular forum, forum section, or posts by a particular person. For some it’s just leaving the forums all together.

Ask yourself: Am I getting what I expect from this experience? If so, welcome to this little slice of life we call . If not, maybe it’s not the right experience for you.
(And I mean that in all life matters and am by no means telling anyone that they should or should not participate in these forums. It’s just the topic at hand here.)

Russell, You recommended this site to someone — therefore it is beneficial for you and you have positive feelings about it. Great! And that someone did not feel that this is the place that will be a positive experience for him/her. That’s great too — I highly respect people’s right to their opinion. Perhaps you could email the person back and share what you like about the forums and how it has benefited you. Your positive feedback may change their perspective (if they are open to changing it, that is. You can’t force the issue if they have formed a permanent decision).

I’m getting way too “self-help book” aren’t I? Okay, whatever. I’m done for now!

    Smile!

(edit to change one tiny typo — and I thought I was doing well on this one! Drat!)

Big, huge thanks to my hero, my saviour — the computer guru — for all your help (even with a lack of sleep) to get me back on the internet with my laptop!

Yes, but I promise to only use them for good……

Back on subject — I would prefer an April Saturday. May looks pretty busy for me.

Lots of good information. Thank you very much. Sorry we had to leave a little (lots of errands to run & a diabetic dog at ldybugldy & studie1’s house). I learned a lot.

And that cherry, cream-filled doughnut was yummy!

seekers8711 — I deleted your duplicate post for you.

I pretty much never use my electronic compass — one or two times maybe.

I’ve also used the Garmin Legend. That’s a really great unit too!

Started with a Garmin Geko 101 (which I lost and later found) and then went to a Magellan SporTrak Map. Being able to upload coordinates was great. I liked the mapping, but didn’t use it to its full potential. I didn’t like the greyscale screen.

Got a Garmin 60CS last year. Love the color! And the mapping is great. Autorouting is nice too, but sometimes it & I disagree.

But the folks both use Geko 101s and love them. As long as it gets you to the cache, buy what makes you happy.
