And here is a photo of me. This was taken at last year’s CITO event at Roche-A-Cri State Park. This was one of Lil Otter’s virtuals placed in the park.

Bec, thanks for the compliment.. Yeah, it is a bit heavy. Notice the rather substancial handles on the sides..? When it’s full, it’s nice to have a helper…See you on the trails!

I’m especially enjoyng the fork decorations on the front! I’m guessing that they serve as closures?

Something that big would sink the ferry to Rock Island!!!
It’s awesome though!

Don’t have one myself, but I like to camp as simply as possible. Too many containers is distressing for me!
If you are planning to bring a chuck box along to Rock Island, be sure it’s lightweight and portable. From the moment you leave your car at the second ferry lot, you will be hoofing it. I don’t think the group site is too far of a walk, but it is definitely not right next to the dock.
You could also bring along a smallish cart (like a garden cart) if the chuck box is a little heavier.
But, if you do bring along a chuck box — I know who will doing all the cooking!!

I found one of these tagless bugs back in October. It was in a ziploc and had a goal sheet, and a tag made by the Tapps, but not metal TB tag. I tracked down the bug — it had not been logged into the cache, but apparently sometime between it’s retrieval in a cache a few miles away and placement in the present cache. its tags went missing.
After a little more searching I tracked down the owner and they sent out the copy tag, which I misplaced for a while. Thankfully Team LightningBugs offered to make a new tag for the bug, and off it went on its merry way.
If you’re seeing it happen too, my guess is that the culprit may be one person, and probably from our fine state!!

I did have vultures circling above me once…so I guess I can pass for a dead body too.
Probably wouldn’t be a good idea for us to team up!

Many rest areas are only overseen by DOT, but are maintained by other organizations. I spent a few summers working at a couple rest areas as a supervisor. Got to wear the good ol’ DOT uniform, but certainly wasn’t a state employee. Just look for a sign posted that says, “this area maintained by…..” or something to that effect. Those are the people to ask!

The Stockade is very kid-friendly. They used to have a play area too.
Is this a brunch, or breakfast on your own?
Of course, I am on call that weekend, and we have been awfully busy on weekends, but if I can, I will try to stop by for sure!

The rest area maintenance crew that I know has no problem with geocaches placed at either of their maintained rest areas — and there is a geocache at each one!

I’m of no help here, but I love coyotes! Nifty little dogs! Hope your cache is far away from me — or I might be stupid enough to go check it out…..

Or just go buy a new car — don’t have to worry about taking off any stickers!

For some of the caches people think are too easy, and not worthy, these may be accessible caches. I’d like to see more of these types.
