Unfortunatley, all but one of these caches are now archived.
If you own one of them and decide to put it back into service, send me an email so I can un-archive it.
No, we don’t actually visit the cache locations. We review the maps, clues, proximity to others caches, and make sure it isn’t in a State Natural Area. We make sure it conforms to all the Geocaching.com rules, then approve it if everything looks good. It can take anywhere from 10 mins to several days to review any particular cache, depending on it’s complexity.
I’m planning on being there the 10th (since I didn’t get all my caches placed yet).
I also plan to bring the FRS repeater to test it’s range. Anyone coming on 8/10 should bring their FRS radios if they have them!
Myself, the main approver for Wisconsin, actually went out Geocaching for the first time in months.
Late Sunday morning I approved all the caches waiting to be approved. I was hiding caches for the picnic on Monday and riding roller coasters on Tuesday.
I usually get them done the same day they are submitted, unless a the cache is more complicated. Then it may take a couple days.

[email protected]Good job folks !
Ahh, October……my favorite month of the year. Fall colors, smell of wet leaves in the morning as your walking the fire lanes, new flight of woodcock, a bird in the hand…SNAP out of it GrouseTales!, it’s still July 🙁
Your main entrance to the South End of Devil’s Lake is: N43°24.548′ W89°40.499′. This is where you turn off the main road to go the south beach area where our shelter is located.
The coordinates that Skarolek posted are for the entrance to High Cliff.

I agree!
It would be nice if the big WGA logo on the top left part of the screen linked back to the home page, instead of the forums.

[email protected]Good Job!!
Greetings all,
The picnic is fast approaching. We are looking for a few creative cachers that are willing to help place caches for the picnic. If your interested, let us know. We will further coordinate with you via email.
Also, as the Beast mentioned in another forum, we are looking for volunteers to help solicit door prizes. Perhaps you have the gift of gab and can sweet talk people into donating. Or, perhaps you have business contacts who would be willing to donate. If your interested in helping out with the door prizes, let us know.
The Lil Otter is heading the cache placement committee. If you want to assist in hiding temps, post here, or contact her directly at: [email protected]

Shhhh, I think were still hovering at 199. Since I didn’t need my gps to find the breakfast, I don’t feel right logging it as our 200th “find”. I wish there was a button for “wuz there”.
Since I was talking mostly admin stuff, I felt it was appropriate to log the find as on the WGA-admin account 🙂
Mike,
I sent you two emails containing a .prc and a .gpx file. I’ll also forward the results of one of my queries when it arrives today.

I think the kettle Moraine is a little more then a “park”. It’s a pretty good chunk of the state.
For the Southern Kettle, I agree that Salute to Stute is a good one.. It’s one of those hidden little treasures which is what Geocaching is all about!

How early are you getting started?

I knew I was missing something. I finally figured out how to use the “find” feature thanks to your help Steve.
Thanks
