Wow, you’re almost finding them Muggle B style!
:like:
Wow, we had a new type of geocaching experience tonight!
While Kim was driving home from Green Bay to Milwaukee, a MGT&SS old silo cache was published. Kim’s phone alerted her that a cache on the way home was just published near Saukville, so she called me at home and I stayed with her on the phone to navigate from 25 miles away until she reached the cache without the use of a GPS unit. I looked at Google Maps to find and then describe to her the geobeacon, and she had no problem driving to and making the find. She made the find 28 minutes after it was published.
Thanks Mr. Greenthumb & Sunshine for a memorable first-of-a-kind caching experience for us!
Lisa I’ve never given a formal Geocaching 101 class either but I could possibly help out. Perhaps even hide some temporary caches for the day.
I suppose I should find my receiver before going to the event tomorrow. Haven’t seen it since last month. Then again, I know how to get to the event location without it.
Just make sure you can find your camera.
Congratulations! I must admit, I’m very tempted to go to the final block party this summer.
We’re tempted too. We were at the Groundspeak block party once before (dozens of lackeys, all in one place), but this is their final one…

But if you go looking for the caches make sure you watch out for the park service painting the shelter!

I think the paint has dried now. Hopefully you no longer have that paint on your hands. And arms. And shirt. 😉
Much of the history of the WGA is in written form in a series of 7 “historical” caches, entitled “Meet the WGA.” They’re listed on the bookmark link at http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=4fe59f49-7dbb-4e21-9a5c-c8d69bcc269b
The seven caches, located just west of Milwaukee in Waukesha County, include the following topics:
Meet the WGA #1: Statewide Annual Events GC4NBQ3
Meet the WGA #2: WGA Campouts GC4NBQT
Meet the WGA #3: The BOD GC4NBQK
Meet the WGA #4: The WGA State Park Series GC4NBQ8
Meet the WGA #5: WGA Committees GC4NBQA
Meet the WGA #6: WGA Picnics GC4NBQG
Meet the WGA #7: All Together Now GC4NBQC
The series won the series of the month award a while back. It’s updated regularly with the newest WGA information.

I am humbled.
I just checked. Out of 86 active Wisconsin virtuals currently remaining, we still have 38 to go. I’d use the embarrassed smiley face but I don’t see a smiley chart on the webpage.
GC8E5D Cemented in History is possibly my favorite. We’re working on finding all 87 active WI virtuals for the WISCONSIN VIRTUAL CHALLENGE (GC2T5CD), not sure how many more we have to go but I think it’s less than 10. Also working on the CHALLENGE OF THE CENTURY (GC1QAAD), in which one needs to have found at least 100 virtuals from any location. We have 3 more to go to qualify.
Where is everybody today? I went to go clean my house for a few hours and no new TS’ers posts????
I’ve been scanning and editing pictures from the 1980s & 1990s most of the day. Also voted for the BOD. It’s been a nice relaxing day.
LOL! Whoops, left that out. I will be a teacher’s assistant at the Eau Claire Early Learning Center. It’s Head Start through the school district.
Congrats Becca!
We were planning on logging our SP cache last, after finding the other 46. But the lure of a biome badge has persuaded us otherwise. We haven’t logged it yet but likely will before summer.

Someone call Hermann Weyl
Oh yeah! He’s the guy that proved that the eigenvalues of the Laplacian in the compact domain are distributed according to the Weyl law.
Sure… go and make me look something up this late at night…
The keymaster learned from the participant. 🙂
Oh wow, now I know what many were talking about. That last post I did sent me through the page one wormhole! 😀
