Getting in on page 1120 on 11/20.  It’s also the 16,791st post in this thread.

You know, someday some people will look back and consider this the good old days.  For me that would probably be the 1980s.  Except for music.  That would definitely be the 1970s.

With the really old TB’s that were numbers only, I’ve sometimes entered the wrong tracking code and saw somebody else’s TB.  I suppose one could randomly try a bunch of different number codes and virtually discover trackables that way.

I still have hundreds of premade cache containers for when I was trying to complete a massive drop of caches along the OC&E Trail in Oregon. If anyone ever needs some, and is in the area, the TB University has plenty “standard micro sized” ones, but I have things available from “piss off cachers because it’s so small micros” up to and including cooler sized large available if you give me a heads up.

I’ll take some off your hands next time I’m in the area.  What area are you in?  Better yet, what’s the nearest GC #?

Fourteen geocachers created the the new Tri County Corridor challenge cache series.  FYI for you pathtaggers out there, three of them – Lostcheq, Mocrin, and Aix sponsa – produced a joint pathtag (#46046). It’s not related to the challenge cache series, but it’s kind of neat to have a pathtag that was made by the three of them.

In case the word hasn’t spread – there is a new set of Challenge Caches out “Up North.” 97 so far and 130 on the horizon. Everyday there are a few more published. Reviewer Johnny Waypoint has been kept VERY BUSY! and is doing an awesome job. The location will be along the Tri-County Corridor (former railroad grade so the terrain is gentle, but lots of T4-5’s with TOTTSs) of Ashland, Bayfield, and Douglas Counties from the cities of Ashland to Superior. The 130 caches are now strung out from Superior to Maple and again 97 are published to date with more on the way. It’s an exciting adventure to be a part of, whether you are a finder or a hider!

WOW!  Those look pretty great!  Bonus that it runs along a rail trail right through Amnicon SP.  Looks like an overnight bike trip is in order.  Linda am I correct that climbing sticks and a telescoping retrieval tool are in order?  (Kind of hard to tote a ladder on my bike)

Using a free program called “Cachestats,” I found and subsequently removed unintentional duplicate logs long ago.  However, back in the earlier days of geocaching, when duplicate logs were done and even expected for certain kinds of caches, we earned those duplicate logs, and haven’t bothered deleting them.  It’s only a few, and has been a non-issue for us.

As the owners of 125 caches, we currently have 117 that are active.  We don’t like to place park and grabs either.  We like to maintain our caches, but it’s getting more challenging to do so when they’re scattered over five counties and most require a walk in green spaces.  Lately we’ve encountered wet logs in a bunch of them, and almost all of our caches are waterproof!  I don’t mean mostly waterproof, but submerge-it-in-water completely waterproof.  It’s frustrating when cachers don’t completely close the container.  This concludes our rant of the day and we now turn the thread back to useless drivel.
