I wish they would change the APE name to MOVIE caches or HOLLYWOOD caches, that way if the Tomb Raider caches are created we could qualify for them and not stare at 0 APE caches forever. 🙄
Congrats on an important milestone! I had fun reading your log and some of the others from way way back in 2001.
Only 120 more FTF’s and we’ll catch up with you. Might be tough though – we’re probably going to limit ourselves to only one per month if possible. So in about 10 years at that pace . . .
➡ The “Build My Profile” tab and the “Preview and Export File” tab that I’m referring to are at mygeocachingprofile.com, not at geocaching.com.
I think you may have been looking at an old cache page. (Cache takes on a double meaning here, cool 8)) Just refresh the home page that’s supposed to show the FTF’s at geocaching.com.
I just looked at your profile – it SHOWS your FTF’s. There’s 149 of them listed, the most recent being from 12/23/11.
However, if there’s a bunch of them missing, here’s the other answer:
At the “Build my Profile” tab, scrolling down to the “My Memorable Finds” section, you would have to manually enter the GC numbers of all of your “missing” FTF’s or let the program automatically find every log that you’ve entered with the phrase “FTF.” However, the auto-find could list some caches where you weren’t FTF but mentioned the phrase “FTF” in your log.

Then, you would go to the “Preview and Export File” tab and make sure that the box is checked that states “Include First To Find Section in Profile.”

I hope that helps. Nice job on the 140+ FTF’s!
Nice! I just posted this on Facebook.
Interesting topic!
So far for this December we’ve found 118. We plan on caching in Appleton for several hours tomorrow so the total should increase. In December of 2010, our first winter of geocaching, we found 97 with at least one for every day of the month. All of the dates in our calendar are now filled except for February 29th, which we are highly motivated to fill this coming leap year when it arrives. Since we only started a little less than two years ago, and we found caches every day of last winter without a miss, we kind of don’t know what it’s like to not cache in the winter. We don’t own a snowmobile, snowshoes, or a four wheel drive vehicle, although I did get Kim some ice cleats for Christmas that she hasn’t had a chance to try out yet. We’re fortunate (?) that we live near Milwaukee where there’s a few thousand caches to find within about 15 miles. Makes it much easier to handle winter caching. And as some cachers have heard me say, one of my favorite quotes is “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.” 🙂
So far we’ve cached on 24 of the 28 days of December 2011. Last year it was all 31.
We especially liked caching on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day these past two years. I think it will remain part of our holiday tradition. Same thing for New Years Eve and New Years Day. We have special caching plans for New Years Eve; haven’t figured out yet what we’re doing for January 1st though.

My Garmin Etrex Legend died this fall and although I was comfortable with my sons Etrex, my wife surprised me with a Garmin GPSMAP 62s. It is sitting in its box…anyone know anything about this model…is it a keeper or should I return it and get something else. Thanks in advance for any replies
Definitely a keeper, one of the best out there. The Garmin GPSMAP62s is what I use – it’s great! Garmin has more or less three top-of-the-line GPSr’s. There’s the Oregon, which is their top touchscreen unit. Then, until this summer, the GPSMAP62 was their top pushbutton unit, with slightly superior reception due to it’s exterior antenna, and then this summer they introduced the Garmin Montana ($$$), which is similar to the GPSMAP62s but with a higher resolution screen and a few more bells and whistles.
Four ammo boxes and one pair of ice cleats. I guess we had better go hide some more regular size caches.
Congratulations on your milestone. That puzzle sure looked involved and a great cache to do for a milestone. Keep having fun!
I’ve noticed that challenges as close as 25 miles away don’t show up.
As you probably know there are the local challenges that you’re referring to, and then there are the “worldwide” challenges, which are not location-specific. There are at least 20 worldwide challenges that you can complete pretty much wherever you are.
Wow, congrats! Six hours of adventure and fun along the Milwaukee River, with scenic views, great company, and now a special prize from Beezers. Good weather for it too, nice timing!

The Milwaukee River Greenway challenge is worth the trip. We found several at a time in January, February, March, May, September, and November, so most can be done any time of year. It is possible to do them all in one day. If you’re good… And to think they are all in the city of Milwaukee, right along the river! Here’s some highlights:

Didya notice how the pictures keep getting bigger?
