Cool. A group outing for Lord of the Caches. Even BBG had mentioned to me a month or so ago he might be interested in going a second time because he liked it that much. That’s quite an endorsement!
This will be the second year that in addition to the “normal” stuff, we’ll be putting travel bugs and cache containers on our tree. Then we send them out into the wild.

I have only one on my ignore list. It’s an event cache that the CO hasn’t ever closed, even though the event is done. 😕 Otherwise it keeps showing up on my unfound list in an area I’ve already cleared out.
We love to read up on caches and keep track of a bunch of them. We currently have 37 on our watch list. Two are DNF’s, 21 are ones we’ve found that we love to keep track of, 1 we have unofficially adopted, 4 are the four bases for the capture the flag game, and 9 are caches we hope to eventually find.
The 9 we hope to eventually find are:
A Cache a Day … for 365 days?
Frankenstein’s Neckwear
IAT – Walk the Dinosaur
Lord of the Caches (The Trilogy)
Mission Impossible – Mission “Cut” Short
Outstanding In Your Field
Parkview
Robert O Cook Challenge
Walk the Plank:suspens: There are of course plenty of others on our to do list (especially those over 100 miles away), but these are the ones we’re currently following. We also have 4 travel bugs/geocoins on our watchlist.
Wow, congrats on 14K. Now on to the next 14,000!
Nice triple play August, well done!
Thanks! We’re not sure how long the streak will continue. It could end anytime, and that would be OK. Our goal was to reach 365 days to qualify for some challenge caches (in MN and IL), but now it’s become somewhat of a habit! It’s FUN to find caches, so stopping for the sake of taking a break probably won’t happen, but if there’s a day when we just don’t feel like it then we’ll just not go. My guess is we might skip some days when the snow comes, if not before that. But it’s still fun and we like snow. (As some of you know, one of my favorite quotations is “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.”) We have had our lives so enriched by being able to spend quality time together while caching. It’s better than sitting in front of a TV or doing other activities separately. Plus we’ve gotten to know so many great people that are now our friends.
As for the trip to Hawaii, we’re planning to visit “Hawaii” with Mr. G & Sunshine for milestone 2,000 (and maybe, just maybe, their 4,500th) at GC2A8Y4 just outside of Cottage Grove, WI.

Next goal: Find a cache on February 29th so our calendar is blacked out and travel with a group of cachers to complete the Dedicated Cachers Challenge GC266J4. Anyone else qualify for that challenge that wants to come along on 2/29? 😀
We’ve were watching for this, knowing that the jpleva team were about to reach their millennium mark. And they did it in spectacular fashion! Congrats you two; we’re glad we could find a few of those with you and look forward to more! 😀
Congratulations Jim on your milestone. I have known how to do Sudoku puzzles for a few years and Mr. hack just learned how to do them. This was a nice puzzle cache to challenge yourself with for a big milestone. Keep having fun.
Way to go Ed. You’ve not only found a fun night cache and reached another milestone, but you’ve now found all of The Old Man Returns caches! I hope your spousal unit eventually gave you a ride home after that one. 😉
Just read all the logs from you walking adventure on this 4000th find. Wow that was a pretty impressive milestone cache for you to find. Congratulations on the milestone. It was very cool to have a tributary cache that spoke so highly of your team.
Congratulations on your milestone. What a great place to go for a milestone. We love lighthouses and lakes.
Congratulations on the milestone. You picked a great cache for a milestone. Glad to see you had a few others to join you on your adventure. This was a very fun cache to find the time of year.
Nice job! Double nice job – you got them all logged quickly too!
If a person found a cache every day for 13.7 years, they would eventually reach 5,000 finds. Of course Martin did it much quicker than that, and managed to hide a cache or two along the way. Congrats Martin!! ❗ ❗
