We sort of have the opposite thing going for February. Since we started caching we’ve never missed a day in February. Or any winter day for that matter. We only started in June 2010, had 8 days in August where we didn’t go caching, but since mid-November we’ve cached every day. I can guarantee you we won’t be caching on Feb 29th this year though.
Congrats on #1100, and thanks for the entertaining story! I would have never thought of hiring a ride!
Thanks for the explanation Brian. In the future I’ll mainly upload to my username folder. A couple of interesting observations – I felt pretty silly when you mentioned there were 27 albums in the WGA Events folder when I said I only saw 8. I could have sworn there were only 7 from 2006 and 1 from 2010. Now I went back and looked and sure enough there were more, this time I saw 23 folders (still not 27 as mentioned, but close enough). My bad. Then I tried an interesting experiment. I was able to move a picture from my username folder to the “Wisconsin photos” folder, probably because it’s not an event folder. Then just to experiment I tried to move one to the 2011 LCG folder and you’re right, it doesn’t give me an option to transfer to that folder – admins only. There are about 20 event folders that will accept transferred pictures (such as the 2010 Potawatomi Area Council Expo & the 2010 Winter Bonfire/Chili Feed), so probably when those galleries were created someone didn’t check the box that others couldn’t upload to it.
Anyway, thanks for the explanation; it all makes sense. And LOL @ the time wasters thread comment 🙂
Looks like a lot of out-of-state travel will be required. That will stimulate the economy!
This may be a bit late but here’s some possibilities. As you probably know many companies make projectors; it’s not quite as common to have a projector with a DVD player built in. I’m partial to Epson’s DVD player/projectors. The following are some choices.
Epson Powerlite presenter WXGA, $800, 1280×800 resolution, 10 watt speakers, 2500 lumens
Epson MovieMate 85HD, $800, 1280×800 resolution (720p HD), 10w speakers, 2500 lumens
Epson MovieMate 60, $600-$700, 960×540 resolution, 10w speakers, 2000 lumens
Here’s a place to start…

John – what did you do in your spare time before you and Kim started geocaching?
LOL actually before geocaching we did a lot of walking/hiking, but didn’t have geocaching to complement it. Sometimes we would drive to other neighborhoods, park our car there, and take a long walk. Our last five major vacations (Hawaii, Colorado, S Dakota, Carribean cruise [yes hiking], and Upper Mich) were all hiking vacations. So when we “discovered” geocaching it was a perfect fit! I sure wish I would have known about it sooner. 😕 We did Hawaii 4 months before learning about geocaching. Now we’ll have to go back! Aside from that I have too many minor hobbies to mention (you know about at least one of them – photography), but all of them are less important than spending time with Kim. I fully adhere to the “happy wife, happy life” philosophy!
We only reveived the back issue so far. It’s nice that it comes with a FTF Geocaching Magazine official pathtag too!
That was fast! We subscribed on Feb 15 after learning about it here, and received our first issue today (ordered one back issue and a new subscription). I already read it cover-to-cover.
John

You can carry it Sherry, but I’ll be happy to photodocument the event. 🙂
That’s a shame. I love cemetery caches. Few muggles around, beautiful and peaceful, located in urban and rural areas, and the very setting reminds me of what’s important in life. We have a cemetery 2 blocks from us without a cache (so far); we’re planning on planting a cache there on the outskirts of the cemetery – if we get permission.
I’m wondering – do any of you more experienced cachers out there have a form letter or script you use when contacting cemeteries for permission?
Congrats Brian! Glad to see you reach another milestone, and your geodogs must appreciate it too! Yesterday we found three of your caches; I even thought of putting in a Beezers wooden nickle in one of them (I think I might even have two) but I think I’ll save it/them for your new Evil Monkey caches you’re planting soon along the Milwaukee river It’s nice to know that if you run out you can always borrow one from us 🙂

Thanks for the tip, we just subscribed minutes ago!
Thanks Jim & Dave for doing such a great job! This was our first official WGA event – are they always this awesome?
