Here’s a picture of Connie (2nd from front)

Got an email from HQ today with a Thank You for hiding along with a few stats (as I’m sure everyone else who has hidden a cache has/will get) Was fun to see though that I have had almost 60,000 finds on my 440 caches. Thats almost an average of 140 finds per cache. (Granted I’m sure most of those finds are on my Lighthouse and Windmill Geoarts) That’s a lot of smileys!!
We received a similar email. I was surprised that it stated we have 80-something caches placed. Then I figured it out that it only gives stats for active caches, not including the archived ones.
I prefer not to stack my pancakes. With stacking, you get good coverage of butter and syrup on the first layer, but the layers underneath don’t get the same saturation. I generally spread out two or three on the same plate, with a slight overlap at the center of the plate. Granted that doesn’t leave much room for sausage or bacon, but that’s how I usually roll. 😉
I do wish they would have allowed the campfire event, but I guess the reviewers are likely under directives to not allow it. It will be a big blow to the WGA and to me if they do not allow the WGA pancake breakfast event the day after the Cache Ba$h mega event. Hopefully it’s kind of grandfathered in. My guess is that somewhere on the globe there were those who were abusing the stacking of events, and HQ put a stop to it. I do recall the time that GONIL (Illinois) folks had their Big Yellow Bus Tour of Wisconsin (a group of about 40 for a fun day-trip). They sponsored numerous events all in one day starting with
(1) 6am breakfast event (Illinois)
(2) 6:45am Bon Voyage flash mob (Illinois)
(3) 11am Lunch event at Devils Lake (WI)
(4) 3pm Flash mob @ Merrimac Ferry (WI)
(5) 4pm Supper Club event @ Lake Wisconsin (WI)
(6) 6pm Madison coffeeshop (WI)
(7) 10pm Nightcap event (IL)
We were some of the few Wisconsin-based cachers who participated in it (the Merrimac & Lake WI events) and we thought it was excellent. No harm done, lots of fun & adventure. But I would guess at times that others somewhere may have stacked 5 or 10 events, all in the same location; that would be strange.
We have two and possibly three night caches planned. Having said that:
– No animals are being harmed in the making of the night caches.
– The night caches will not be hazardous to your health. Probably.
– Placed without permission 😉
– Lobsters9494 will not take first place again.
– Yes there will be lights. Yes there will be things that go bump in the night.
– UFO sightings are commonplace during WGA campouts.
We completed the Green Bay Packers geoart yesterday, located just NW of Las Vegas. 🙂

HE IS RISEN!
I don’t normally do pathtags, but I certainly should see if I could get a Hodag pathtage made.
Sweetlife made a Hodag pathtag several years ago, but it could use some company!

Interesting pathtag you have there. I wonder if I could get one from them some time, I regularly visit their area in the summer month(s).
Well what do you know. I found another Hodag pathtag!

The snow is gone. Again.

Cheesehead
Deer
Packers
Bucks
Brewers
Snow flurries!
Incidentally, here’s why these are my latest acquisitions. I have a narrow focus of what I look for with pathtags. I collect tags from WGA members, some tags from places/items that mean something to me, tags from other geocaching organizations, and tags that have the same theme as one of our cache hides. So far we have placed about 90-something caches, so I’d like to collect a pathtag regarding each of those topics. Shown below are which tag correlates to which of our caches. This is just from the past week.

Geez Hack, you are becoming quite the pathtag connoisseur . . .
Our next one will hopefully get submitted in the next week; we hope to have it before the campout. It features the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
— and I created a puzzle cache with a Hodag in it a while back. GC4W6FZ

This was a pretty good week. These are the pathtags I picked up this past week.
