Last night we went out and grabbed 35 points. My goal is 500!

There’s some great info here. I think you’re right on a lot of this, too. There are a lot of Lonely’s around the Fox Cities, but most are tough puzzles. I think there’s a reason those don’t get found, because they’re hard puzzles. Maybe we increase the number of caches per segment to incorporate more. Or maybe we switch them up some how, where a cache can’t be on the list more than x times in a row. Just some suggestions. Again thanks for the ideas, Awhip80.

No I glance at it for 3 seconds, clearly unsolvable.

Just noticed there is a checker built into the page. Is that something new from Groundspeak?
Must be, did you make sure it works for your answer?

Enjoy GC7K9QJ“>my first Wisconsin hide. The second is already in place, just need to finalize the puzzle. Third one is in the works. They are progressively harder.
your link is broken…

Bob’s article:
I like geocaching and am now on the board.
The end.

And now the drivel may commence.

One of the reasons I’ve never nominated or voted on a cache, is that I don’t know that much about COTM. Obviously the issue here is to get more people familiar with it. For those like me that didn’t really know about it, and had just a little curiosity, how about someone makes a how-to video? Something similar to what is found on YouTube. We could even have a link from the COTM page to the YouTube page. Personally I don’t think I have the voice or wisdom to explain it nor the wherewithal to get it to YouTube. Thoughts?

This seems like a viable option.

I’m posting this here because I know it will be seen, this is the log I’m about to post the Cache Across America cache in Green Bay: This is a log I never thought I would write, and hoped to never have to. I came out here today to retrieve the TB, since the CO has requested to not have trackables in this cache. All was well and good until after I had actually made it across the street, I heard someone behind me and found out it was a member of the Packers security staff. He was pleasent and all, but he had mentioned that there had been issues in the past with people finding the cache because they were all up in the planters. Apparently that’s a big no no, and I can certainly understand that. He had also mentioned that the police had been called on other cachers in the past because they were there looking after dark or doing things that look more suspicious than what I was doing today. I just wanted to post this note to make sure others know they probably will get stopped by security. The best thing to do in that case is be 100% honest with them. -The Happy Hodag!
sounds like it’s time to move the cache to a better location that has permission.

Any thoughts on cutting down or eliminating the three month waiting period before a new cache can be nominated?
I was thinking the same thing today, but then I realized that the reason for the 3 month period is probably to make sure that enough people have found the cache, so that it can receive enough ballots, kind of a way to keep it fair.

Newbie’s $0.02 here. Having never nominated a cache for COTM, I don’t know what the submission form looks like, but does it state WHY the cache is being nominated? If so, can that glowing praise be shared on the page? If not, why not? Just seeing the name/link to the cache page might not be enough to get people interested enough to check it out. To use an out of state one as an example of what I mean, since it cannot be nominated itself, I gave a favorite point to GC23XQ9, “Little Flyer.” Why? Because it was a cute container just off the freeway that made it more than the expected end of the road barrier cache. If I knew that about a COTM nominee, it’d get me interested in finding it, and possibly voting for it.and get me pumped up to nominate one in the future. Am I making sense?
You’ve cultivated some ideas here, probably gonna be a while before I can really dig into it but thanks for posting your thoughts.

John, good stuff here. Ideas and moving the conversation ahead is what’s important.
