Thanks. I’ve now got a map flooded with cache icons.
Checking the Wednesday box did the trick. Not sure why the Generate PQ failed earlier.

On my first attempt, yes. My next attempt, I checked all of them. 3rd attempt I didn’t check any.
    I think.

    Army surplus store maybe?

If you’re in the Madison area, and you’ve looked for an Army/ Navy Surplus store, you’ll come out very, very, disappointed. Ask me how I know.

Wisconsin doesn’t have much for A/N Surplus stores.

There is a surplus store in the Eau Claire area that I know is decent, but I dont know how much they ask for ammo cans, if they even have them.

in reply to: Refurbished GPSr’s? #1921668

My Refurb’d Garmin Colorado 300 will be here tomorrow. I’m pretty excited, hoping I don’t get one that someone played with for a month and brought back to the store.
But if it works, and at least looks good, I’ll be happy.

I’m looking forward to “paperless caching”, especially being able to pick up a few caches on those days when I don’t plan on geocaching, like picking up those few caches along the way to a destination. I think the Colorado should be able to do that for me.

Look into setting it up on ESPN.com.
Thats where I play most of my fantasy football.
I manage an advanced league there and participate in a few others.

What I like about ESPN is their intuitive system, and very flexible options when it comes to drafting and specific rules.

I also like the fantasy analysts on the ESPN staff.

in reply to: MuddyBottoms Fantasy Baseball League?? #1921693

    count me in.

I’m an expert at Fantasy Football; never played fantasy baseball, always wanted to. I don’t know how much of my fantasy expertise will carry over between sports, but it should be fun.

If an offline draft cannot be arranged, PLEASE at least make it so there is a live online draft.

Just purchased a Colorado 300 online. No longer looking for GPSr

I shouldn’t have referred to the eTrex Legend as “my old eTrex”. It’s on loan to me from a family member.

Since it isnt mine, I won’t be able to sell the eTrex to anyone or use it as partial trade.

Did I read this right? SWAG includes a GPSr and camera? That’s great SWAG, but how do you “truthfully” trade equal or better for these?

Correct. but don’t get too excited.
The camera is an old Polaroid Instamatic. While it works perfectly, it’s only a real treasure to anyone willing to pay the outrageous prices for instamatic polaroid film. That is if you can still find it.

The GPSr is an older model. a Magellan GPS 310. It works perfectly, but it’s nearly obsolete, IMO inadequate for geocaching. It could serve someone as a backup unit, if their primary were to fail or become lost.

The Magellan GPS was my first GPS many years ago.
I’d be lucky to get $10 for it if I were to sell it.

I think a hunter or a hiker could make use of it by using it to mark the location of their vehicle before heading out into the woods.
Thats about all it’s good for.

If I were to have a garage sale, I’d stick $5 on either item, no more. It’s not like super high-dollar geoSWAG.

You know, like they say, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure.

Speaking of High dollar geoSWAG, I’ve heard of a geocache down in Georgia somewhere, where the cache container is one of those enormous Rubbermaid containers.

Inside is stuff like Microwaves ovens, DVD players, stereo components, VCR’s, Blenders and toasters. Thats a cache I’d like to visit.

in reply to: Amyone ever have this problem? #1921654

That just gave me an idea. It could be a TRAVELING GEOCACHE!
“The Geocache that comes to you!” 🙂

I could just attach a TB dog tag to the handle, and send it on it’s way. A TB with a log book and tradeable swag inside? Could it be a first?

in reply to: Reverse GeoCache Puzzle #1920806

    I suppose you’re right.
So long as there isnt a rat’s nest of multicolored wires sticking out all over the place.

Anyone who has ever seen an episode of MacGuyver should know instantly that a mess of multicolored wires means its a bomb.

in reply to: Reverse GeoCache Puzzle #1920804

A concern I have, is how do you leave one of those boxes somewhere, hoping it gets discovered and hoping someone doesn’t mistake it for something else?
I don’t know about everyone else, but if I accidentally come across a sealed box with a button and an LCD, I’d immediately think it’s one of those b-o-m-b things.

And I doubt anyone could get me to push the button.

But if someone put this thing inside an already existing cache… I MIGHT think about giving it a shot.

of the 76% that said No, I wonder how many say it’s a more dangerous and how many see no change.

For the 24% who say yes, it would be interesting to know who those voters are and where in Milwaukee they live.
