I suppose timing doesn’t help much. Had it been around for the weekend, I bet it might have been found already.
I hid it on Saturday morning, submitted early Saturday evening. It wasn’t published until Sunday well after dark.

I spent over a day working out the puzzle details, another half a day scouting the area. I’m just a little anxious, thats all.

Maybe if it were summer time it would be a completely different story.

Is the person who submitted the designs to Cafe Press still an active member of WGA? If he’s not, then why can’t someone make a brand new Cafe Press account?

I assume WGA is a non-profit organization. I think I can also assume that any profits made by selling swag on Cafe Press go towards the operational costs of WGA, including the website’s bandwidth.

Should that be something voted on at a WGA meeting, or could someone take initiative and just get it done?

If the site was any more reliable, I might have already paid my money to become a premium member.

As it is, I have less than a 50% success rate on geocaching.com.
Not necessarily 404-errors, etc., but problems where I have to submit the page numerous times, or click refresh a half dozen times before I get to whatever it is I’m looking for.

IF it’s money they need to deliver a reliable website that works when you need it to, I for one wouldn’t mind looking at advertisements.
Personally, I don’t want to pay for a product they can’t deliver 100% of the time.

I just submitted my first WSQ.
    GC22V8B

It’s a puzzle that combines a number of basic puzzle elements. I spent a few days preparing for and building the cache. Hopefully it’s not easy/ not too hard. I want it to be solvable even by kids.

Im confident many cachers will leave with a piece of knowledge they didn’t come in with.

Since it’s the first real puzzle cache I’ve designed, I’m anxiously looking forward to receiving any sort of feedback.

Here’s one of mine. It’s brand new, and aptly named!
    Island Micro (GC22K4K)

Also in the Area is “Lake Biron Mystery (GC22DTN). That one COULD be on an island. just sayin’.

Both are currently accessible on foot & by light vehicle.

the event was my 500th find

You mean I can get a Smiley just by going to an event? 😯
I KNOW I drove past there sometime between 1 and 3 on the 27th. (since I only live about a mile away from Anchor Bay)
That probably doesn’t count, does it?
    😛

Happy belated b’day BlueCougar and Sandlanders.

I’m still working on Sandlanders “Turn a New Page” down by the boatlanding. Only like 4 or 5 attempts and an equal number of DNF’s. I suppose I’ll get it eventually. I’m determined.
I think Im the only person on that one with a DNF, and then someone comes along and calls it a Park & Grab. Embarrassing. 🙂

in reply to: Lock & Locks #1919516

I was at WalMart a few days ago looking for such a container.
Of course I didnt find and Lock&Locks (you already knew that) but what I DID find, were some waterproof boxes over in the camping isle.

They are a clear plastic which the manufacture claims to be shatterproof.
2 hinges, 2 latches, and a rubber, watertight seal not unlike an L&L container.

The downside to these containers is that they’re $10 each.

In years past, I’ve made numerous attempts driving through and around Plainfield looking for that cemetery. I never did find it.

To me, it seems as if it’s a part of Plainfield’s history that local residents are ashamed of, and they’d keep it a secret if only they could. I think the last thing they want is a tourist attraction there.

Anyways, I’m adding this cache to me “Must-Find” list. Thanks for the link, Zuma.

I’ve been caching in the Wisconsin Rapids area by myself the last few months. I’ve made a few hides in the greater Wisconsin Rapids metropolitan area 😀 (Just hid my 6th yesterday, only 3 of which are lame micros)
I expect to have find #50 under my belt within a few weeks.

I’ve been caching alone, so it’s pretty slow-going for now.
I’m looking forward for Spring time when the snow melts, hopefully things will speed up.

My goal is to accumulate 250 finds by the end of the year. To a lot of you, Im sure thats nothing. But for me, it’s just a goal, an achievable goal.
I may surprise myself, who knows?
