I suspect the cacher who found it was FROM Arkansas.
They just didn’t use correct english in their physical log signing? Its your cache and you probably know better than I do, but this was a totally separate piece of paper placed in cache, not a page from the logbook. The words “found in arkansas” were written upon them.
There was no date or other information written on this sheet of paper. Unless someone does not speak English as their first language (a possibility), I don’t understand how someone could make that mistake.Hypothetically
Lets say the cache really did grow legs and a clueless cacher took the entire cache container with them to Arkansas, rehid the container in Arkansas, a cacher finds this box in the woods, looks up the GC# and realizes this cache was in the the wrong state..
Could this cacher return the cache to Wisconsin and rehide it along the trail where it is supposed to be without anyone noticing, only leaving a short note in the cache explaining what happened? It’s unlikely, but sure would make for an incredible story.
Based on how I interpreted the note, I almost expected a story similar to what I just described above.
I also suspect a racoon, but I thought a bigfoot thread would be more fun.
Nope. No Bigfoot sigtings in either of Wood or Portage counties.

You’ve been heating up right along with the weather lately!
Yeah, I’m getting out there.. but sooner or later I’ll have to slow down. I’ve pretty much completed Wisconsin Rapids and Friday and Saturday I took a sizable chunk out of both Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids.
Once I start having to drive further and further out of town to go caching I think the price of fuel will catch up with me.I won’t forget about my other hobbies, flying my helicopters. Time spent doing RC is time not spent geocaching. Geocaching will have to take a back seat.
But really, if I didn’t have my new GPS and was still manually writing coordinates in a notebook (I like to conserve paper and printer ink) and having to enter them by hand into my old GPS, I wouldn’t have anywhere close to 100. Maybe 50 or 60 at this time, who knows?

Congrats on your 100 cache finds !!

And you, too! I noticed you found your 100th today also.
It’s official. Find #100 came today. Almost didn’t happen though because I sprained my ankle while I was after number 99. Popped a couple ibuprofen and I was good to go for at least 3 or 4 more.
Cheeto’s “Fav Fishing Spot” by Lake Petenwell GC15KNH was my 100th.
Not to totally ruin your positive moment but…
I found a tick on me this afternoon. My first tick since November. It’s funny how the craphas are never anywhere to be found when the ticks are present.–am I the only one seeing the correlation here?–
I’m thinking the ticks might know something about the craphas. You could ask one of them, but I doubt he’d give you a straight answer about anything. Don’t believe otherwise, ticks only PLAY dumb! They’re actually pretty smart, they just don’t want anyone to know that.
I just scored a Garmin Colorado 300 on eBay for $220 less than a month ago. Now I think paperless geocaching is the ONLY way to go. 🙂
That sounds good, too.
Just decided on:
“Only logbook entries made 3-7-2010 and later count for “Biron Pleasure Island”. Earlier entries are valid only for “Lake Biron Mystery.” Its a new cache with a new cache number, so feel free to make a return visit even if you’ve been here before.”I guess thats tactful enough.
It turns out that my original idea to limit cachers to one smiley between these (now two) caches is an LDR (additional logging requirement), so thats a no go..
But they do have to return to the cache and sign the log if they want another smiley, and it is a Terrain ★★★★★, so I guess its a win-win.
If by stating, “If you’ve signed the logbook prior to 3-7-2010, you’ll need to resign the logbook to obtain your smiley” (or something like that), thats not an ALR, right? Thats just keeping people honest. Agreed?
I regret not having the coin #’s when I did the archive-relist.
I looked at the coin pages and I saw there is an automatic note posted, saying their last known location had been archived.I was sure to post a note explaining exactly what happened.
Since I don’t have the numbers, the coin owners may be able to move the coins themselves as soon as the new listing gets published. (GC24R2A)Opening Day is less than a month away. I’m ready to win. 🙂
As of an hour ago, this cache has been hidden. Just waiting for publication now. (GC24NMC)
If anyone knows someone who needs a GPSr, (one thats not quite adequate for geocaching needs), I know where you can find one (in a geocache)
The cache was originally (quite literally) filled to the brim, but I decided against that, hoping to leave room for larger travel bugs or whatever else people can think to leave inside it.
Have fun, folks.
03/01/2010 at 12:42 am in reply to: Thoughts on a single puzzle solve with multiple loggers #1923411Any negativity you may have found in my post was implied by the OP, yet you’ve singled me by quoting me, why?
You say to me to “cut the negativity”, yet you go on to say that that I have a right to an opinion, as do others.
OK, Im confused here. So what you’re saying is, I’m entitled to an opinion as long as it’s not negative? 🙄What is it exactly about my post that you wish to make an issue of?
The OP has a dislike for busloads of cachers that visit his puzzle cachers. He’s obviously the one with a negative opinion of such cachers, not me.
All I did was offer a creative solution.
It’s a discussion forum. Thats what people do here. They discuss.I did say, “GC can be, and is, a team game” (you even quoted it)
