I was hoping to do some rockford ones this weekend, but i couldnt talk my father into hosting thanksgiving at his place. (i think my parents like my pumpkin pie too much. I made two of them and ran out already.) I’m trying to work on an opportunity to crash at his place a couple times so i can cache down there. Like you, caching down there will be like caching in my own home town. OK, caching down there will BE caching in my own home town. I’m looking forward to finding caches both in my old haunts and in places I never knew existed.

I’m at 10.6% myself. I don’t even care whether something is a regular, a multi, a virtual, or something much rarer. It’s there so i gotta go look for it! I have found myself dreading the micros with all the leaves on the ground right now, but i still make an attempt at them.

What I think would be another interesting statistic is the percentages of each type of cache you’ve PLACED. so far, mine break down like this:

    Traditional caches: 8 (4 regular, 4 micro)
    Multi-caches: 3
    Virtual caches: 1
    Letterbox hybrids: 1
    Event caches: 2
    Mystery caches: 1
    Webcam caches: 1

I like variety. Sometimes I’m in the mood for a few easy finds, but there are days i set aside a few hours for a single hard find. The single hard finds are sometimes much more satisfying.

You’re right about the holidays being a busy time. What about moving it forward to the weekend of the 13th/14th?

    didn’t know 100 was special.
didn’t know it was coming up.
    purely chance.

    coming up on 200.
    know better now about milestones.
hope to make saturday’s breakfast my 200th, if i don’t make it there before then.
if i don’t make 200 by saturday morning, oh well, i’ll be there by saturday afternoon for sure.

    it figures.

other than the dells event, the only camping i got in this year was at hartman creek. i’ve already DONE a bunch of those caches!

Buuut–as always, there are more caches one desires to to than one can fit into a trip. So hey, i could easily do this one a second time!

i also wouldn’t mind doing a campout in the la croix area or bayfield. i havent been to either of those places in years!

i love our get-togethers too! When I first got active again, it seemed like there WAS an event cache every weekend! I have some places I’d like to put event caches, but I thought that if I arranged and posted them all, I’d wear some of you out!

    Fondy–done
    Manitowoc–scheduled for January

Desired locations for the future (in order of eagerness):

    Appleton
    Oconomowoc
    Osh Kosh/Neenah
    Racine
    Stevens Point
    Wausau

I am SO sorry I missed Janesville, and it was a week after I made the century mark, too–I just couldn’t make it there after late-night halloween partying.

it’s also starting to get chilly and i was wondering if it would be better to save some of those locations for better weather and longer light.

Next time we have a get-together in a state park, any interest in getting a group campsite? that way we can enjoy each other’s company for a greater portion of the day, if we so choose.

And as long as i’m running off at the mouth here (or fingers, actually), any interest in making the december ‘breakfast’ into a Yule party, and celebrating the return of the Big Flashlight in the Sky? Has a host team been picked for December’s event?

    Congratulations to you!

in reply to: Poor Cacheless Kewaunee County #1745910

Kewaunee’s a little far for me to set up caches; my next Mission is to fill in that big gaping hole just east/southeast of Lake Winnebago, not far to my northwest.

    That’ll become Hermione Central
