A Cake Decorating Contest would be an activity that people who are traveling from out of town would most likely not be able to participate in, unless, that is, if the cakes were provided and the decorating was done on site.

I think the chamber should solicit youth groups in the area and ask if they are interested in offering food/drink for a fundraiser and not lock it down the same group year after year.
It would be nice to see a group that is National — since the event brings in folks from across the country. A group such as someone referenced — Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Boys/Girl’s Club. Even a United Way group would be nice to see there — where the fundraising goes back into the community.
