OK, so maybe the problem wasn’t FireFox after
I’m still blaming Firefox though. If I hadn’t downloaded it, I wouldn’t have used stand-by either time. 😀

Just wondering why firefox made you use standby? or was it just by chance you used standby for the first time in a year after you installing it? I was also wondering where you downloaded firefox from? make sure you got it directly from mozilla here:
    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

I have seen some spyware filled versions out on the web, and yes some spyware does install crappy network drivers in an attempt to have a backdoor to your computer. I doubt this is what happened to you but its always a possibility.

It’s also bad on the environment. Think how much CO² is added to the atmosphere every year by computers waiting on stand-by. 😡

Actually it saves TONS of electricity compared to leaving a PC running, if your PC doesn’t have any issues resuming from standby or hibernate I would definitely use it.
I fix PC’s and have seen this standby resume issue numerous times. To fix the issue next time simply reboot your computer or follow these directions: click Start, run & type CMD & press enter. Now type ipconfig /release & hit enter, now ipconfig /renew & hit enter.

Now your pc should connect to the internet just fine.

Walmart.com has the 60Csx for $305 most of the time. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4564610

you can buy a 1gb microSD card online from newegg.com for under $6

Now you can choose what maps you buy…. I have both the topo 2008 and city Navigator 2008NT, I much prefer the auto-routing and more accurate street maps with city navigator.
If I was buying maps again I wouldn’t buy the NT maps, they are a tad slower on redraws than the Non-NT maps. They are compressed differently so you can fit most of the US on a 1gb card, but I already own a 2gb card so thats a non-issue.

Well now I feel real STUPID!!! 😳 😳 😳 Sorry never saw your post!

Don’t feel bad, these type of emails go around allot. I remember a year or two ago there being an email circulating(with photo) of about a 6ft rattle snake that was caught at badger ammunition near Devils Lake State Park. Turns out the photo was really taken somewhere in Texas.

Even if it wasn’t in Wisconsin it would still be pretty scary to have a big cat looking in your patio doors!

All the email said was the pics were taken by a guy in Spooner, WI and that the cat was watching his kids play on the floor.

If you check out the link I posted at the top of this page there is a section of Hoaxes, and these pictures are shown. According to this site these photos were actually taken outside Lander, Wyoming in 2005.

We have the yellow eTrex H that we’ve been using since October, but there is no downloading capability for that (we use the old finger exercise regimen).

You can buy a cable for that yellow etrex, just make sure your PC has a serial port.

You can also buy a Serial to USB adapter if you pc doesn’t have a serial port, you can find these much cheaper if you don’t buy from garmin.

Here’s another website, this is a user editable map of the whole world. You can even use your gps to record tracklogs to draw in new roads or correct any errors you find.

For those of you with a garmin gps, heres some info on how to load these maps to your GPS.

I love this little thing it looks like it would be fun to drive. I saw it a couple years ago on some show, but unfortunately it broke from all the beating they were giving it.

For the price I would rather put my money toward something like the Chevy volt concept vehicle(estimated 2010 availability).
You can charge this car at home & do a 40 mile drive using just electric, then it will kick in the gas engine to recharge the batteries for longer drives.

Finally a truly paperless solution that doesn’t require extra junk to lose along the way….

I agree having one device is the way to go, but this isn’t your only option.

The delorme PN-20 also supports paperless caching and is MUCH cheaper than these Colorado models are listed at($300 online with maps). As of right now it can have 256 characters in the waypoint note field, and the soon to be released firmware update will allow 800 characters.
Delorme also seems to be very responsive to customer feedback and have been improving the units constantly. They have their own user forum and have begun to be active on the geocaching.com forum too.
