in a comparison between garmin and magellan at one group outing, i have to admit that the magellans were better that day. but on other days, the garmin comes out ahead. and under heavy tree cover, none of them are very good.[/B]
never had any problems with our meridian golds under heavy tree cover, though my brother has a sportrak map and it would loose signal when ours would not. the only thing that gets our GPS to get a poor signal is tree cover in combo with hills(deep vallys) I have heard that the quad helix antenna that the Garmin 60 series uses is far better(meridian gold had this for allong time) but my thing is i want a way smaller GPS. i dont want to always take my huge meridian into the woods.
for only being a 3 minute piece it actually covered geocaching really well. better than the groundspeak DVD for sure. love to see how many logs those caches get after this!
seen this review today and thought i would share. some pretty good pictures on here. http://www.todayscacher.com/2005/jul/reviews.asp
