Just a bbump on this topic to remind all that you are invited to a great Pancake Breakfast at the Group campsites on Sunday morning.
Thanks for the offers to help. I will be getting in touch at the camp-out.
As we get closer to the WGA Great Hartman Creek Campout Pancake breakfast, we could use a few more volunteers to help with flipping or preparation at the Sunday Morning breakfast.
Thanks Team Margaritaville for volunteering to help!
Next Year maybe we’ll have your band preform during intermission of the WGA meeting, and you can do both.
Friends of ours in Arkansas won a substantial monetary amount in a contest like this. There was a geocacher who would go to a park or other scenic area on a Saturday morning, and put the coordinates of his location on the Arkansas Geocaching website at 8 AM.
He would have a campfire going and the first three groups of geocachers to arrive at his location got 1st, 2nd, 3rd place monetary prizes. They then waited around in case others arrived and just had a nice get together around the fire.I think your ticket idea would be a fun game/puzzle. If it would be closer, we would give it a try.
Hey beast….wasn’t that SLUJ*??

Too late guys, picked up Old Yeller today and brought it to its new home. You’ve got to get in there with the first email before the gavel comes down.
We are interested Ken. Have sent a private email.
I feel that our agreement with the WiDNR is and will be a positive one for Wisconsin geocachers. I say that even though I have had to archive our first hidden and most favorite geocache. I knew when I placed it that it was in a Wi State Natural area, but there was no policy then. It is still one of the most beautiful views in central Wisconsin.
I have had no problem with my cache at Devil’s Lake and the Park Manager there. I have one more on State property that I am working on and for-see no problems either.
This agreement will give both Geocachers and Park Managers a better understanding of where each stands, and what geocaching is about. I feel we will gain from this. It also opens the lines of communication between both groups.
Wisconsin is a beautiful state with lots of great State land to explore. Let’s take a hike!!!
If only I had some cigars to hand out…We’re ready to get out and check it out this weekend.
Thanks for your help, Tie!!
Thanks Tie, and also Thanks GoJeepers. Let us know when the cache is set for adoption, we’ll get some items ready for the container and go check it out to preform any needed maintenance.
Hotdogs Off Trail
Hi Tye,
This is a great little county park about 20 miles from our home. If you still need someone to watch over it, we’d be willing to adopt. There’s a nice lake for fishing and trails around the lake. Also a very nice campground. Plus we were the FTF this cache!
When we first met geocachers that had just returned from the woods, they mentioned that they had just found a “cache” in the woods…..so I asked “How much cash did you find? Feeling sorry for me, they showed me a little plastic lizard and handed me a Cache Page. I read, and saw the light!
I also saw that article. but I believe that the “stay on trail” signs are only for sprecial areas and in the “conservation areas” of Madison Parks. This (geocaches being placed in conservation areas) is one of the reasons that Madison banned geocaching for a while. If we respect these conservation areas of the parks, there should be no problems.
