Third! Glad to hear Ken has reconsidered and will run again. It’s so great to have people of his caliber working for all of us. We do apppreciate all that the Board does for us and as usual don’t say it enough. There are quite a few important items on the upcoming agenda. This will be an important year for Wi-geocaching. Let’s all remember to vote and support our Board.
FYI…Hotdogs Off Trail are conspiring with Natlow2 to host a January “Cold Cache ” Event of the Central Wi. Geocachers (and any others wishing to attend), and don’t wish to be in conflict with your breakfast date. So maybe we can email and get separate dates???
You can put the Hotdogs on the list for five states -Wi, Mn, SD, Mo, Ar
Thanks – Jeff
All the Hotdogs agree that Hartman’s Creek would be a great park for the campout. Beautiful camping area (although never checked out the group camp), great trails and would lend itself well to caches.
I believe the campout should be kept in May to avoid most of the after-Memorial day tourists. The sites become much harder to reserve then, and more people on the trails. For those planning on attending this event, maybe you’ll want to stay a bit longer. I found this in our local paper last night…..
The Friends of Mirror Lake will be hosting a “Mystery Hike” from 6:30 to 8:00 PM on Sat. Oct. 25th.
The gentle candlelit one mile trail will provide a safe, fun, and educational hike for children and adults alike. Children can use their “detective skills” to help solve the mysterious happenings at Mirror Lake. After the hike there will be door prizes, hotdogs (not us), cider and cookies available for a nominal fee.
THE HIKE IS FREE OF CHARGE.The candlelit hikes at Miror Lake have always been some of our favorites…hope to see you there.
I think you’ll really enjoy governor Dodge State Park. It is a beautiful area and has a lot of ups and downs on the trails. We have done all in the park except the new Stone Pillar cache, and they are all top notch and as each are in different areas and require a hike to get to, you’ll probably not get them done in a day. Highly reccommend Artful Dodger multi cache, but the first two legs are not easy to find.
One of our favorite parks, so hope you enjoy your stay. JeffThat weekend’s fine with us, but we were thinking making a camping weekend of it, not just a Sunday brunch. Pack an extra blanket and snuggle closer. Anyone else for camping?
I didn’t think close really counted. Seems like with a gps one could get closer than a mile to a county if one wanted. Even when we were on the wrong (European) datum when we first began, we could get to within a tenth of a mile of the cache.
Just kidding! Happy Trails…Congratulations to our very own bean counters!! About time we found you receiving the accolades, kudos, etc. instead of giving them. CONGRATULATIONS!!
WOW!! What great views. After the hot day we had today, those pics made me feel cooler just looking at them. Thanks. Have a safe trip back and see you at the picnic.
Sounds like a beautiful time of year to meet up North. Those dates are open for the Hotdogs. Let’s keep the plans rolling.
Just a note. Last Sunday while gathering for the temp hides, we were informed by a park ranger that dogs are not allowed in the area of the shelter or anywhere on the South Shore unless being walked through on a trail.
So..Hotdogs Off Trail will be dogless for the picnic. Just wanted to toss this out. See you all at the picnic!!!
We’ll bring a 12pack of regular and diet soda – probably regular Coke and diet Code Red
If the consensus for the temp hides is to have a picnic at the lake also, I’ll bring fresh sweet corn. Need a head count of how many are expected, Lil Otter?
Hey guys, there was nothing on our screen after you wrote what you had so far……
Hotdogs Off Trail will donate a nice Outdoor Bar-b-que kitchen set (knives, cutting board, etc) in a case and a nice LED flashlight for door prizes. Anyone else?
