I also finished reading the book and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m waiting for my wife to finish her present book so she can read “Cached Out” and we can kibitz. Good mystery, and Jag and Sierra hope some geodogs make it into the next adventure.
While perusing my nearby Delaneys Surplus store, I found some items for a night cache that I have never seen before, so I have one in the planning for the Campout event….game on!!
Happy Valentines Day!!! Bonnie just returned from locating her “hidden Valentine” red ammo can with big white heart on it (a tradition we’ve had for years now. Inside was a copy of the book, and it looks really interesting. We’ll be reading it.
Definitely remember to check out Cave Point County Park, located right next to Whitefish Dunes. Great sounds of the waves crashing into and under you as you stand on the rock cliffs above the Lake. So completely different from the dunes and less than a mile away.
It is being advertised on the History channel that the episode at Dr. Evermore and Lady Eleanor cache area will be next Monday night, January 14th
Can’t claim any credit for their stop here, although it is a perfect stop. Will be interesting to see if they “have a bit of tea with Lady Eleanor in the Gazebo” We’ll be watching.

Did anyone notice that their address is IOWA???? 😯 😯 😯 😕 😕 😕
I received this email from another WGA member last night after I passed on the above information:
“I’m familiar with the magazine but I haven’t seen a printed issue yet. It’s published by Roy Reiman and company, the same staff that does Our Iowa, which I have subscribed to for several years. Our Iowa also does a hidden key contest every year. The first year they did it, it was found by a couple of Iowa geocachers, so you are on to something there. “
Keep your eyes open while out caching, and someone may get lucky. Took the car keys, Left a McD toy. TFTC (Thanks for the CAR)
01/05/2013 at 4:46 pm in reply to: First cache hidden – looking for expert advise and questions #1966682I feel that if there is another cache by the same name in the region, it would be better not to duplicate the name to prevent confusion. If there is a cache by the same name in another part of the country, that would be ok to duplicate. Use your originality….and you can always change one word or so to make it different.
Dogs are usually allowed, but only on a leash. Dogs are usually not allowed in the beach areas of pavilions. We will have our “hotdogs”, Jag and Sierra along.
I haven’t seen any place if Minnesaota Geocachers are officially going to join our group for the event.
[If you are planning on staying in the group site, then a tent will be your home as popups and Travel Trailers are not allowed in them. If you prefer to have your own site, you can do that too, either tenting or in a camper.]
If you have your own camper/RV, you might want to reserve early as the sites will fill up quickly. We have done that for every WGA campout so far, and had a wonderful time.
Sometimes it seems to take forever to find just what you are looking for….I wanted the perfect vehicle for the WGA TB race, and as I looked around the room last night, there it was on the shelf. The Hotdogs have an Official “Hotdogs Off Trail Racer” now that will really represent our team, and found another unofficial one that, I think, has some kind of “warp speed” setting. We’re ready for this race….bring it on!!! We have to get them registered at the event, hopefully.

I would be willing to help. I would be happy to help mail these out after school is out for me on June 13th. Just send me the stuff and I will sit with the remote and watch TV and address envelops and stick stamps.
We had a mailing party one year, and had about10 people do an assembly line thing. It went pretty well. Could be done again…just need a place for everyone to meet and work.
This guy from Wisconsin dies and finds himself in a large room standing in line with a bunch of people who have also died. As he stands there, he sees God and Satan working their way down the line. When God selects someone from the line, he or she is escorted to an escalator glowing with heavenly light. When Satan selects someone, he or she is dumped down a chute to the fires below.
As the old-timer watches, every so often Satan takes someone out of the line and throws him or her to one side and onto a pile of other people, stacking them all like firewood rather than throwing them down the chute. His curiosity piqued, the farmer steps out of line and approaches Satan.
“Excuse me, sir. I can see that you’re plenty busy but I have a question.”
Satan glares at him impatiently but does respond, “What is it?”
The old-timer asks, “Why do you sometimes take people out of line and throw them on a pile rather than down the chute to hell?”
“Ah, that’s simple! The ones on the pile are from Wisconsin and they’re too cold and wet to burn . . .”
Just as a bump for this announcement, I will be available for the Campout Committee, even though I will not get my reserve fee back. I’ll probably use those May dates to check out the park for the event.
