We enjoyed our stint at pulling garlic mustard at the last campout events. Just a thought…the volunteer pullers could be part of the GPS…Garlic Pullers Society.. It is not hard and gives a lot of satisfaction…and helps one to realize just how widespread the problem is.

We don’t live that close, but I have been asked to help with the Pancake Breakfast and am looking forward to helping. Please include me on the Campout Committee, and I’ll also help where I can be helpful. Thanks!

I guess I’m slow, so here’s my dumb question. What’s with the lenght of time of observation portion of the report?

in reply to: A risk I did NOT think of – heads up… Traps. #1942154

We had the same experience with our Cocker Spanial Madison many years ago while hiking in the Yellow River State Forest in Iowa. This trap was just off the hiking trail a few feet, and I don’t recall any water nearby…can’t remember for sure. Madison let out a cry that I’ll never forget, but she also only had bruises after being let out of the trap.

This is something to be concerned about and aware of, but also kept in prespective.

After every flight, UPS pilots fill out a form, called a “gripe sheet,”
which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics
correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor.

    >Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers. By the way, UPS is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident.

Be it resolved that the date may be February 27, 2011.

Thanks to all who noticed. We had a great time in the Badlands, Buffalo Natl Grasslands, and Black Hills. I think we still have 10 pounds of back road dust in the van and trailer from South Dakota.

It was an absolutely beautiful day, begining with the buffalo for breakfast. I could not believe that pickup truck coming by just when we needed a lift. It would have been over 10 miles if he hadn’t showed up.

360 degree view from the top and just felt so good to e there after fixating on that cache for 7 years. If you want a challange in that area, try a Team Family Affair cache.

Thanks again!! It was worth it.

I can tell you now that I have read over 1000+ e-mails on my logs, that overwhelmingly we got positive comments from people about the event. Thank you. That makes a years worth of planning and hard work, meetings, coming up with creative hides worth while. I have not gotten any yet and actually look forward to donning my new mosquito suit and getting them myself. I got a lot of positive comments about my series at Serigraph and I had as much fun thinking about it as watching the logs come in. Looking forward to seeing you all next year! 😀

I really enjoyed the hike loop at Serigraph, AND the fact that our “hotdogs” could stretch their legs with us. I took the time to look up the owner of Serigraph and email him personally to thank him. Great event!!

I try to save as many old logbooks as I can from our caches. They are fun to look back at to see how new cachers have become old veterans, and the early ones have the logs of the Founders of the WGA.

I’m still in favor of having a WGA Historian to write the history of the WGA, and keep some of these old logs and other memoribelia for the future. Nudge, nudge, know what I mean?

Any updates on the whereabouts of lost Lois?? Our little Jag is very concerned and wanted us to take a run up to search for her, but we have been unable to get away. We have our paws crossed that she will be home soon.
