I want to extend my congratulations to the new and returning WGA Board Members. It was a very hard choice this year with all the GOOD canidates. Thanks to all that ran for your time and thoughts shared with the rest of the Membership.
As I look over my shoulder at the WGA Wisconsin plaque on my wall, I remember the great time I enjoyed on the Board. The WGA has a great Board and an involved Membership that keeps our group one of the best in the country. Lets keep those new ideas coming!
01/10/2009 at 5:19 pm in reply to: Winter scout event Feb 7, 2009 Verona, WI (Madison area) #1899272I would be available on the 17th or 18th to meet to hide a few temps and get to see the area. It would be great to meet and have help from the Marble Guy. Let’s set a time if this weekend works for some or all of us.

Don’t forget to bring a can of soup. all soups are thrown into a big pot and hot hobo always tastes good after hiking in the snowoup for all.
The more the merrier. Mike, do you have a date for the hiding yet??
Great series of posts!!! Thanks for the chance to virtually follow in your footsteps along Route 66. It was a pleasure to read your adventures.
The good Professor thought he heard the Beast say “Tickle your a$$ with a feather?”
………but I have it on GOOD authority that what he really said was “Particularly nasty weather?”
I know where I’m going…..just not exactly how to get there.

The search on the geocaching.com home page is a Google search of the gc.com site and is pretty much useless for finding caches. You are better off using the Keyword search on the Hide & Seek A Cache page. Or the geocaching.com search on the WGA site is great because it is “smart” about what type of search you are doing… it will take keywords, waypoint codes, zip codes, the names of cities, etc.
And the WGA search is “smart” because we have a very “smart” webmaster and WGA Secretary. Thank You, Jeremy!!
Quote: “I wish someone would have told me ahead of time that geocaching and the WGA are intended only for Atheists. “
Without knowing complete facts, I know I am ashamed of any geocacher that would send an email with so little respect for another’s opinions. But I also hope that classifying all “geocaching and the WGA” as Atheists was an unintentional remark also.
In six years of geocaching we have met some of the most wonderful people, most of which we now consider friends. In the mass population of geocachers, as in the overall population, there are probably bound to be that percentage of people that have no consideration for others.
I feel geocachers are a wonderful group, but reserve the right to “ignore” the few that I find that are intolerant of others.
The WGA Board, and many others have been very busy the past couple weeks getting ready, and running the three day WGA camp out with 55 temporary caches and pancake breakfast for 150 WGA members. I’m sure that the Board will be put this up for voting soon.
100% chance of weather this weekend.
05/15/2008 at 12:06 pm in reply to: Anyone care to join a group hunt for The Artful Dodger? #1888928As the original FTF of the Artful Dodger cache, we wish you all a fun hunt. We were newbies back in 2002 when we happened to see it come online just before leaving for the First WGA Campout at Governor Dodge. We spent a few hours on it Saturday as we hunted temps, and finished up on Sunday with a hike to the final.
There was a very special FTF prize handmade by Artopsy in the cache. We will bring it for show and tell at registration.
I’ll answer my own post. We need some volunteers to help with the Pancake Breakfast on Sunday morning. 7 AM and as long as you can help. Need cooks, batter mixers, cashiers, etc. THANKS!!
Bumping… What ya need Campout crew???
Hotdogs plan to be there.
Thanks, I also notice last night that my favorite Topozone had been absorbed by Trails.com and wanted $$$. I logged onto the acme site, but how do you put in our coordinates?
