‘pm sent’
Whoops! Sorry Team DeeJay! Missed spotting that little smiley!
We previously suggested they disable the cache, but they’ve chosen to leave it up. They must believe there is still a good chance the container is still present. I probably should have said ” . . . they planned to visit the cache this Spring to replace the container if needed . . . “
We noticed the NA log as well. …….. We contacted the CO in January, and learned that they planned to visit the cache this Spring to replace the container and ‘rededicate’ the cache, noting that it “has made a lot of people happy for years.” Not sure why this cache is not on the LCG list, as it appears to be in the same boat as Carney Rapids GC12RHJ . There currently is a ‘Verify Present’ Rescue Mission on both for prior finders.

I’ll repeat what my niece, the nurse, told me.
If you find an imbedded tick, pull it out, put it on a piece of scotch tape, and tape it to a calendar on the date you extracted it. If you get symptoms, take the tick with you to the doctors appointment, along with the date (or take the whole calendar!).
When I found the “rosy ring” on the back of my leg last year, it was a one pill treatment. Of course, the tick was long gone by then.
This will be an interesting year, that’s for sure!
Took your advice last year, and this approach came in handy twice. Impressed the doctor 8), and left no doubt on what it was and the timing.
We approach it as an ‘Occupation at Risk.’ This is information from a Lyme’s Disease site, but applies to all ticks.

Had 20 or 30 of the little beasties trying to make a Find on us yesterday
Had that happened to me I’d never go geocaching again…those buggers really creep me out.
Sorry about that! Not trying to scare, just recounting what we found. Not as creepy as it sounds, as they weren’t all there at once. It was more like ‘here and there’ throughout the day. And we expected to find them sooner or later this Spring, as we are intentionally visiting their turf, so we weren’t caught by surprise. 🙂 🙂
Had 20 or 30 of the little beasties trying to make a Find on us yesterday, but think we won the battles 😯 ……we had to keep spraying our pants and shoes with DEET to finally get them to slow. Found some leetle ones about the size of banana seeds, well, big banana seeds….really hard to detect. We’ve seen them worse……but that’s normally May-ish. Can’t wait!
Seriously! With gasoline running over $4.50/gallon in Chicago-land, cachers from that area could run up to Door County, tend to their caches, buy cheap NE WI gas, and save so much in filling their tanks, that it ‘pays for itself.’ Honest! Don’t think about it! Really! :oui:
Though this may seem odd, you may have success submitting these to GONIL’s ‘Adoption Agency.’ Some of their members likely have close ties to Northern Door. Adoption Agency 🙂 🙂

Quick! How many legs does a tick have?
Ditto what Mr. Greenthumb stated….though we’ve only done 3 or 4. Always had it in the Garmin’s we’ve used (etrex Vista and Oregon), which can determine the difference between being on the ground and being held over your head. And if you have a smart phone, ‘there’s an app for that’……which is likely based on elevation data that accompanies Google map data, or other map you are using.
That said, we did find out the hard way that out eTrex can spit our erroneous readings, as it did at a Crater Lake EC, and the very attentive and prideful CO called us on it while on the verge of deleting our log. We had to do a bit of ‘splainin’ to get our log to stick……….so, to this day, we always double-check with the CJ route, and consult a reliable topomap before submitting our final answer. 🙂 🙂

That one’s a great-great-grandpa by now! 😀

I wonder if there’s some correlation between Shamrock shakes and geocaching?
Very well might be. And they are mysterious! For the second time within a week, grabbed a large one, sat down, started driving, and just like that: >POOF!<……. they'd simply disappear! Magically delicious, YUM! 🙂 🙂
Congrats to the four teams for taking up the challenge, and taking your own epic routes to the FTF. Sure to be unforgettable! And thanks Run N Search, for making it all possible.
Now when is that Multi-Country Challenge Publishing? Spring Break Trip! 😎 😎
