I’ve often wondered what exactly is this secret weapon. Is it a flame thrower? Could it be a metal detector? Does he drink lots of water between caches and strategically relieve himself at GZ melting the snow around the cache site in hopes of revealing the container?
Anyone have any theories? Not sure about Trekkin’, but you just spilled the beans about ours 😯 😯 😯
As far as for Trekkin’, can you give us some context by providing the words in a written sentence from one of their logs? Otherwise, would have to say, without a doubt, it’s most likely: Birdin’ 😀 😀
Went a’spying on that Island last weekend, and it is a very busy and muggly place when the boat traffic is heavy, as larger boats get funneled right next to the Island, and others fish by it. Our thought was a nano on that Island would be survivable, and make for a nice 5/5 😈 😈
Not even gonna ask THE question. 😳 😳
NR93:
Since there is already an Island Cache Bookmark List, which should give you a really good start on what you specifically asked for, you may also wish to find or make a compilation of Canoe/Kayak Caches, that will capture rivers and marshes and who knows what else. I see that river caches such as CCS-series in Wausau, and “You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille” by Stevens Point are not included.
You can search attributes (boat), look at T5 caches (special equipment) – the Lonely Cache Game List has some good examples – , connect with prolific water cachers (Trekkin & Birdin, One Paddle Short???????), and/or start a thread entitled:
“HEY! I JUST GOTTA KAYAK! WHERE CAN I USE IT TO DO SOME REALLY COOL CACHING?”
Just a few further thoughts………………….
Hey! Was that you in a boat last weekend going out to Oasis? We saw two guys in a boat, the one rowing was wearing a sailor’s cap, and the other was playing an accordion. No kidding! Geocachers from another place or time?
Anyway, to your question, there is a great bookmark list put together by gotta run this past winter….it’s in another thread, and likely linked into Cram and Oasis………………….Need to take a peek.
On the short list, there is Horseshoe Island in Peninsula State Park, and the lighthouses on Long Tail Point (take the Dead Horse Bay route)…..and some Cat Island or similar out there too. Do not think of going to Chambers Island in Green Bay unless you are very experienced….IMO.
Also, there are a good number of River caches, for example from Wausau to the Mississippi perhaps. Not sure they are listed in the bookmark. Lastly, of sport interest, the Fox River is developing a nice system of portages around its locks, to permit kayaking/canoeing from ? up into Green Bay
p.s. The gotta run BM List: http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=0fdcfa03-20a4-42ca-b384-af2934ac5888
Someone chime in, but we took it as pre-berry-diet Black Bear scat/poo. Not trying to step in it, just trying to show size, and didn’t think of placing the gps by it. Since you mentioned stepping, always wondered, why they tend to poo in the middle of the trail? (We know……….cuz they can………………)

No one likes my caches… 🙁
Not true! We’ve liked every single one we’ve done (about 30), and most of the ones we just say we’ve done (about another 20.) 😉Cross-threading here with the new gc.com features……..if you let me log one of your caches that I didn’t really do, cheeto, then I will ‘Like’ your cache….
Back on track now, sorry Peach 🙄
Do you need to find a cache to ‘Like’ it?
Usually, if we find a cache, we like it………………. 😀
But if we don’t find a cache, well then, that might be another matter…………………………. 😈
A bit of a diverge, but while hunting for a geocache in Door County, two young ladies came running over carrying a box and asked us “are you looking for this?” It was a REAL LETTERBOX! It happened to be placed about 20 feet from a geocache. Luckily, we had our trusty gotta run-hand-carved hp2 stamp, which we proudly produced and made a ‘find’ on it instead.
We then got into a good discussion explaining some of the joys and details of our respective passions, as they were unfamiliar with geocaching, and we knew little about real letterboxing. The biggest question was, what do you do when two or more ‘teams’ meet up at a letterbox – well, we decided the appropriate thing to do was to exchange stamps – so SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!
They then helped us track down the geocache, and then headed off to do more letterboxing. Plus they revealed they would soon be doing some near Suamico – by gotta run! Small World!
We now have an account with Letterboxing North America. It’s really interesting to compare the description of the geocache and the letterbox, which coexist, side-by-side.

Congratulations!!!! That must be about the same number of creative caches you’ve placed to fortify Camelot, ni?
Congratulations on achieving your mega milestone! And on wheels? Cool!
