Aw..I’m so sad we couldn’t make it.. 😥

But it looks like you had a great time guys, and a good amount of attendees. It appears the weather was fairly decent as well.

I’m not trying to start noting here but, how do you log a temp? Where on GC.com is there a way to log a temp? Attending an event is not a cache find. I’m not against against anyone logging a temp, but there needs to be a space to do it. Until GC.com makes it so you can only attend an event ONCE this debate will go on and on. So here is another option I just thought of. Make each cache an event! That should work then right? Each event has a GC number right. So make it so there is 10-25 or whatever events at the park. Each event has given coords, has a description and every thing else a regular cache has. And when the event is done, there all done. Maybe GC.com should make it an option to show ones stats. That way it’s up to the player open to the general public. If no one can see your stats, then they can’t bitch.

This subject kind of reminds me of skiing. So people use the classic method and some use the skating method. I’m not sure who many are familiar with the Birkie ski race that is held up here. Well, The classic skiers lobbied and now they are making a classic trail and a skating trail, side by side.
Maybe this is what GC.com need to make, a classic log and a new age log

Instead of going through all that trouble, why not create 10 or so new, respectable permanent caches at the park in which the WGA event is being held? Then ask a WGA member who lives nearby to check on them once in a while, or when need be?

I agree with the sentiment that this should NOT be a numbers game, but it is a game nontheless, and 10 seems like a good number..

But I totally support the decision, seeing that is how the majority of the *voters* want it..

I don’t mind difficult hides..as long as they’re appropriate for their location.

When I find a microscopic micro thrown into a rockpile covered by leaves in the middle of a woods; I don’t think that’s fun. When I find an ammo-box that is cammoed so well it took me four visits to find them, I say where’s the bookmark list with other caches of this type.

Like others said, it’s all about preference I guess..but the middle-of-nowhere micros are not for me..

Never seen a meth lab..but a cacher found a crack-pipe while caching at our event this weekend.. 😕

Here is my opinion, ALL MICROS LEAK!

Nano, Bison, Film Can, Doesn’t Matter, They Leak.

Here is a idea, recycle all those small plastic containers, and go out and place a ammo box

Geocaching the northwoods 😀 where ammo boxes out number the micro

    If only, if only..

Micros are spreading like leaprosy here in Milwuakee. Don’t get me wrong; there are some really great places that you have to use a micro in..I have 5 or 6 micros myself.

But these unseable with the naked eye micros in the middle of a woods 20 feet up a tree over a creek with faulty coords are getting REALLY annoying.. 👿

We’ll be there, geocaching actually rates higher in my life then the football anyway. Was just giving you a hard time. 😀 😀

    That’s good!! 😛

Like 10 more groups just signed up today..sooo I’m expecting anywhere between 70-100 people, give or take the one’s who won’t post a will attend log/the one’s who will sign up later tonight.. 🙄

As for showing the game at the event..you know, I’ve never been a real big football kind of guy..and since they’re interfering with my event..I mean..I don’t know if I want to give them my patronage and all. 😉

I’ll see what I can do. No promises.

I’ll throw a radio in the car when I come down if that helps.
    😆 😆 😆

Yeah turns out the game won’t be shown..hope this doesn’t mean you’re not comming! 😛

in reply to: Our event.. #1880801

I guess I shouldn’t have said 12 “people”..more along the lines of 12 “groups of people”..

Anyways..I hope you guys choose what’s more important *coughs*event*coughs*

Oh yeah!! I keep forgetting..we’ll be there till four o’clock, so if you just want to pop in to get an extra smiley down, that’d be cool. I’ve arranged with WisKid to have the caches for the event to be published right around noon, so if you can’t make it right away you can download the coordinates of the caches right at home.

There’ll be hot choclate available till 4, but I’m not sure when lunch will stop being served..probably 1 or 2.

in reply to: But I DID attend! #1879727

For me it goes away 30 days after you post the “will attend”..whether the date has actually come or not. For example, I signed up for an event over a month before the actual event, and the reminder dissappeared before the date it came. But on the other hand, I signed up for an event like the day before it was to be held and the reminder didn’t go away for 29 days..it’s just weird..

I sent one in last night and got a response a couple of hours ago..

in reply to: You know what YOU want to do on 11/04?? #1878830

    Yeah..I guess you’re right..there’s a lot of time left..

in reply to: Pre-event banter #1878919

Yes..I’m rather irritated that we couldn’t camp over at the park..

But, at least I’m enjoying the heated pool, hot tub, comfortable bed, television, and Wi-Fi very much. The pains of hotel life.. 😆
