Yep, two sounds about right. The days are getting shorter you know.

Good morning for Saturday the 24th.

While wandering through Menards this morning I spotted the Slim Storage Box. It looked a little like those plastic ammo boxes and cost a whole $ 4.49 so I picked one up. I don’t know if I’ll ever use it as a cache container, the hinge looks pretty flimsy.

I’ve never heard anything about the plastic ammo box cache containers, are they holding up in this climate ?

I just got done changing the snowtires off my pickup. I know it’s Wisconsin but I think I’m safe. I managed to get it done this morning before it gets all hot and sweaty, now it’s just warm and sweaty.

I just saw an Adams county snowplow go by on Hwy 21, haven’t any idea what they’re up to.

Nothing exciting happened here. There was a slight disturbance in the force when the power went out to all my neighbors, it shut down my computer, TV cable boxes, and the microwave momentarily but nothing more.

How’d she do in the track meet? Weather held, but we set a new high temp of 97 today, not great weather for athletes.

Don’t know, I probably won’t hear anything till next I talk with her dad and it’s hard to say when that might be.

Iv’e got a great niece in the state track meet at La Crosse this weekend. I hope their weather is better than we’re getting here. She is on the Baraboo team and only a sophomore, I didn’t get to state until I was a senior. Kids these days are such show-offs.

Yesterday while walking toward a cache I’d spotted and not paying attention to where I was stepping, I walked through an ant nest. The first step kicked the nest the next was on top of it, the next was recovering from an almost fall. I stopped and turned to see what I’d tripped over and was surprised to see ant all over the place but none on me. My jeans and shoes had both been treated with Permethrin and it appears that ants don’t like it any more than do the ticks.

Thanks, I wasn’t aware of all the different info that could be plugged into those fields.

Years ago I had an Oriole show up at my feeders, I promptly went and got an Oriole feeder and concentrate and put it out. Never saw the Oriole again. The next year the same thing happened again. I decided from then on I’d just ignore the Orioles when they showed up, they just leave the next day anyway.

This year is different the Orioles seem to be hanging around, also different this year is they’re eating off the regular menu.

I just looked out the window and saw an Oriole and Indigo Bunting on one set of suet cakes and a Rose-breasted Grosbeak on another, no wonder I’m going through so many.

I assume the graduation party that I will attend this afternoon at the village park/shelter will be just as cold and wet as a  camping/caching shelter.

My great niece graduated with honors from the UW last Saturday. She finished in three years with a double major. There’s one apple that fell a heck of a long way from the tree!!

Congratulations to her! What is her double major?

    Political Science and Environmental Studies.

Wow! That IS amazing. She must be one special young lady :)

    She is.

I think she spent all of her out of class time doing online classes. I know that she spent last summer doing online classes while in Colorado babysitting for her aunt and uncle.
