Here we go again. The driveway is again covered with craphas, whoever’s in charge of this schedule needs a timeout.

I’ve always thought that there must be some other stimulus involved. If I just sit still and say Daisy or Pepe, nothing happens but if I’m walking toward the kitchen I get a response. I could say Fido and they would respond, thinking maybe I’m going to put something delicious in their dish.

    4.  What are the names of the new kitties, jar42?

I kept their names, Pepe and Fritzie, though I don’t really care for them. When I try to think of new names that would be more appropriate for them, the only ones that come to mind are Dumb and Dumber. The only reason for a cat to have a name is so you have something to put on their paperwork, I have never seen one respond to its name alone anyway.

A thin layer of ice covers the SW corner of Waushara Co. Its looking like deja vu all over again, though I don’t see this building to an inch plus like last time.

With January coming to an end, I find that I’ve trapped just one mouse in my garage this year. From April last through the end of  the year I got 85. I wonder if they found their losses to be unsustainable here and moved to the neighbors.

Watching this new TV show, “Hunted.” Where would you go if you wanted to “disappear” for 28 days?

    Sandland  ?

Birdin, back when I was driving my Lime-squeeze there was a period when I wasn’t driving much of anywhere. I’d drive into the village 4, 5, maybe 6 times a day, thats start-up drive 2 miles shut off. After a week or so my battery was dead I took it in and they couldn’t find anything wrong. It was just those short trips never let the car recharge the battery. Also a new battery never used to come fully charged, things may have changed but batteries used to be shipped with about 80% charge in them. Also newer cars are always drawing on the battery even when shut off.

Everyone got their ice removed from their properties just in time for the next round tonight?

No ! Got my drive about 3/4 cleared and my sisters about 1/3 done. Spots in the shade of the garages have an inch and a half of good solid ice yet.

Writing to elected officials……is a personal letter sent via email considered as effective as snail mail? I’m hoping “yes,” because I’m writing a lot of them and would like to save the postage!

It all depends, send them via e-mail if you think the Russians would be interested, snail mail if not.

It is just beginning to rain in East of Sandland and it’s about time too. What had been an inch thick sheet of ice on my driveway has gotten pretty thin in spots.

I just looked out my kitchen window and there on the suet block about 3′ from my nose was a Pileated Woodpecker. A pretty male, not the largest I’ve seen but he’s bigger than the suet block he’s working on.

Yesterday I received in the mail the Final notice to buy an  extended the warranty for my car. I did a little checking and found that last January I had received the Final Notice for this extended warranty and also last June. So now I must decide, is this the real Final, Final, Final Notice or is this just the preliminary to the real Final, Final, Final, Final Notice which should reach me in early June.

I just can’t shake the feeling that subscribing to this would be akin to playing the Nigerian lottery.

We’ve got about 3″ of craphas here East of Sandland, as it’s just starting to rain I guess I’ll be leaving it alone for now.

I was hoping to get an early start on my plumbing project this morning but I guess I’ll have to wait until my ice-melt makes my driveway passable. Given some time the town roads should get better also.

I found water all over the bathroom floor this morning and immediately wondered what the new cats had been up to. well it had nothing to do with them, the toilet tank had a crack in it. The toilet isn’t even a year and a half old. Well I shut the water off, cleaned up the mess, put a bucket under the tank to catch any further dripping, and went shopping. This afternoon I dried the area of the crack, patched it with duct tape and tomorrow when my plumbing supply place is open again, I’ll see about getting a new tank.

    Happy New Year ???
