Last Sunday I noticed a new mole run by my garage and decided to get my mole traps out and give them another try. Monday morning I found a dead mole in one trap. He’s kind of small, I don’t think the pelt will bring much.

I saw a robin and 5 or 6 smaller birds at the bird bath yesterday. Thought this was a bit strange because usually the smaller birds vacate when a larger one shows up. After the robin left I got the binoculars to see what the others were. By the time I got back only 2 were left and just leaving, one a chipping sparrow the other a yellowish bird with a full grey head. A Mourning or a Connecticut Warbler just passing through ?

Yes, at least until I had cleared the South edge of Millston, then it gave up and recalculated.

Taking the interstate instead of a parallel route is not always the time saver you may think.

A couple of years ago I got on the I at Tomah and headed North to Millston, passing a bunch of red barrels on the way and noting more red barrels in the South bound lane as well.

On my return trip I chose to ignore Nuvi and head South on hwy 12, which was smoother and less congested than the I.

When Nuvi recalculated my ETA it added 2 min.

Actually I wasn’t so much watching as I was doing a jigsaw puzzle when I heard a familiar voice and had to turn and see what kind of event was going on.
