I don’t remember seeing a double postย with a two and a half hour time delay with the old web hosting service.ย ๐
Just went out and did a little shoveling, I figure we got about an inch of craphas but it’s taking up about four inches of space. ๐
I have -4 deg. this morning.
Sure glad I went out late yesterday afternoon and shoveled the drifts off of the drive. This morning I have a couple of new drifts to deal with and will have to get out the pole saw and remove a couple of branches that are hanging almost to the pavement.
There is no way that I can get the drive clear so I guess it’s just sand it and wait for Spring. ๐
We have about an inch of craphas on top of an inch of slush. Lost power about quarter to six, I have a generator running in the garage so I may get cold but the beer wonโt get warm.
Just now the power came back on, though the estimate was about 11am.
Here East of Sandland we have been getting a very light mist all morning. It is now getting a bit heavier but the temp. has also risen above freezing so I don’t have any reason to hunker down in the house other than I want to. ๐
Whack a mole?? Actually itโs a little Pine Squirrel.
๐ thatโs funny!
These destructive little rodents are kind of fun to watch, the head pops up out of the snow and then a couple of seconds later it pops up again 10′ away. As long as he doesn’t pop up in your attic, that has been known to destroy more than a few homes and cottages. ๐

You must be logged in to view attached files.I just finished shoveling my craphas. I measured it at 3+” but it seemed much deeper than that toward the end. I considered using the snowblower but this stuff shoveled so easily that I didn’t although the shovel DOES NOT have heated grips. ๐
Are ticks active in Texas year around ?
The radar has been showing craphas falling here in East Sandland for the last four hours but I’ve yet to see a flake.
What the heck is informed delivery, and how does one sign up for it? Just curious.
Just go to USPS and click on tools.
Anyone else use the USPS Informed Delivery? Email shows scanned mail so you know whatโs coming.
Does this happen to work in the other direction? Like, would I be able to see if something I sent was delivered? A postal person told me that they have services like having recipient sign for things, but I didnโt want to resort to that.
Nope.
I use Informed Delivery but it can also trip you up when you get something that isn’t scanned like a magazine that could sit in the mailbox for a couple days.
I was out playing in the craphas a bit, doing a little shoveling, messing with the bird feeders, etc. I noticed the mail person go by so I walked down to the mailbox and retrieved my letter. You know how to tell if a letter is junk mail ? If the envelope says ” To Be Opened By The Addressee Only” it goes directly into the paper recycling bin. ๐
What a pain in the a.. .
We only got about an inch of craphas here but with the ice from the recent melt on the drive it’s a real chore scraping it off. Also that ice seems extra hard, my carbide cleats just slide across it.
I’m thinking of going to the hardware and getting a couple of hundred pounds of ice melt and turning my driveway blue for the remainder of the winter. ๐
