This is uncommonly cold even for those of us who remember having to walk to school when it was -10 deg, 3′ of snow, and up hill both ways. π
I’ve been at -25 for the longest time waiting for it to change, it just did -26.
I had not planned on going out quite this early ( -6) but I saw that one of my bird feeders was missing and wanted to find out how my defenses had been breached. I found the feeder in the craphas with seeds strewn about which indicated that an animal wasn’t involved, otherwise the seeds would have been gone.
Conclusion: The wind just blew the feeder off the shepherds hook and no animals were out in the night to take advantage of it. π
We had White, sunny, and 12 here π
I just went out and shoveled a path to the garage, not because I needed to go anywhere but because I got tired of just sitting in the house.
Craphas is 6″ deep at the back door, 7″ in front of the garage. It is coming down as little beads at the moment so I don’t know what that means except that it aint done yet. π
I had – 9 for three hours this morning but about the time I was going to smack the thermometer it started to rise.
It got to – 5 so I went out and scraped the craphas off of the ice on my drive. Maybe it will help the sun get rid of some ice.
Here in East of Sandland we have been getting a freezing mist all day. My driveway is a sheet of glare ice, it should make cleaning up any craphas we might get tomorrow quite interesting.
I thought I heard that the Lions had only scored only one touchdown in their last three games.
Playing against the Packers can solve a lot of their problems.
I just went out and scraped the slush off my drive, maybe that will encourage the underlying ice to melt. If not I’ll resort to the salt but would prefer not to.
First the bad news.
Headlines: New tick species in the US, Asian Longhorned Tick, capable of spreading disease in humans now in 9 states.
Now the good news, Hasmat suits can be had for as little as 2 bucks.
Beautiful day today, it was a little windy but I got some lawn mowed this afternoon.
Not to worry, this is Wisconsin we’ll be in the 60’s in a couple of days.
Oh good, itβs raining :eyeroll:
What, you were looking for snow (craphas)? Looking at the radar it appears that you would have to head for Marshfield. π
I was in Menards this morning reading the labels on various mosquito killing products when a mosquito landed on my wrist, if I hadn’t had a 32oz. mosquito killer in my hand I would have killed it.
I worked in Iceland back in 1974 & 75. The site is about 2mi. South of GC6N15E, a new ra-dome and storage building sit among the foundations of the old barracks and powerhouses.
I used to walk up to near the cache site but that was long before anyone ever thought of geocaching.
