Scrappy Scout just logged onto the chat on my blog and told me that he joined the league. We now have our 3rd team.
Make that four, I’m in!
Happy birthday today Jerrys Mom, Jeni!
I’m so sad, back in school!
This is my post from another thread that I was asked to share here:
I’m posting this here to clear my head! I don’t want to start an argument! I don’t want this as a official answer to the other thread.
I just read the thread about the partnership with the DNR. I’m not sure how I feel about it. Eleven dollars per cache for swag. What are you going to put in there that’s family freindly for that much? Do we want people going, that’s it? Why do this? I wonder if it would be better to let the volunteer choose things?
Don’t get me wrong I like the idea, it just doesn’t seem complete. Is there a back up plan if the DNR doesn’t want to spend the money? I know it’s not alot, but times are tough. Some way we could still do it with the DNR not contributing as much dollars or none at all.
I also forgot we forgot the dollars for the person in the DNR to purchase the items (researching the items, getting bids, receiving the items, sending them to us.) Somebody to make the announcement (their time and effort) The time of the coordinator at each state park and the person updating all the web pages for the DNR . ETC… All of our time is volunteer work, they have to pay for that labor! Do we have a response if they ask a question about that cost?
If you read this thanks for letting me think out loud.

America: the only country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed without eating, elderly going without needed meds, and mentally ill without treatment – yet we have a benefit for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations. I think maybe we should think about taking care of our own first
Well said vtwinspin. It is great to help others but I agree we need to take care of our own first.
I wish we did’t have too but I agree!
That is a norm when I go to Gander, spending over $50 that is.
That was too cool!

There’s a Friendly little town in Sandland that used to have the highest per capita murder rate in the entire country.
Size doesn’t matter…
It’s all in the perception of the observer!
Me, I think it switched when I was working for my dad and we would go into certain parts of the city. We would hire temps to help out so one of us could sit and watch the equipment in/on the trucks. The last straws before that was when I was accausted for money until my partner came around the side of the truck and the guy realized I was not alone and two guys ran up to my dads truck on ran off down the street with a ladder of his, all within a week. We felt like we need security, thus the temp for the day.
I just saw a poll on a local news cast. they asked people if they thought Milwaukee was a safer place than last year: 24% – yes 76% – no.

Yeah, me too, Shane. I can always find a use for ten bucks at Gander! Really nice of that store’s management to make this offer and I wonder how long it will last.
When 500 of us run over there to get our $10!
What scares me are all those puzzles! 🙁
But you don’t have to go in, only if you want the promotion!
And the local Fox station says violent crime has dropped by 13% this year per the MPD!

I think this goes way beyond what “Off Topic” was intened for.
Oh? I was under the impression that off topics were off topics. Suppose you’re suggesting that off topics should be more “on topic”?
This is a subcect more suited for an editorial in a local newspaper.
I sincerely hope you aren’t so uncomfortable reading your local newspaper as you are reading this thread.
For anyone else who is concerned, clicking a thread titled “city crime rates”, they shouldnt be surprised when they discover a thread thats about city crime rates.
I think it’s time for the board to do something about this guy Helidood. He is definitely not an asset to the WGA.
This is off topic. There is not any profanity and we did not attack anybody personally. Asking the board to “do something” is wrong, he hasn’t done anything to validate that move. Maybe you should just ignore the thread you you don’t like it!

when you grow up and live in a little town or a small city where violent crime is almost non existant, when you go into a bigger city your more watchful.
And do I dare say this? Most white people from rural and small-town Wisconsin are afraid of black people. Especially in Wisconsin, a lot of whites live by the stereotype that all (or most) black people live a life of crime. I personally know people who might see 2 black dudes together and panic. It’s pretty sad.
I agree with this also! I’ve worked in factories with people with a wide range of backgrounds. Most are just like everybody else, it’s the unfortunate news coverage we all see. Most crime seems to be african americans commiting a crime against another african american. It’s also hard to break the stereo type when you see it all the time on the news. Take today, five shot in Milwaukee, I turned the news off after that, it gets old.
