FTP for Monday the 20th.
All chili-ed out.
Happy chili day!
It was 2 hours 22 minutes. Way to jump on that FTP, MGT!
Wonder how long it will take…
FTP for Friday the 17th.
Another thought…
Back in the early days of the game, we would use the scoreboard to verify which caches were actually present, so we wouldn’t waste time and gas ($4/gallon!) by chasing a lonely DNF. You can plan a pretty nice LCG circuit in the 2nd month of the listing period by using scoreboard finds as your guide!
And if there’s snow, there may be tracks to follow!
That is the most commonly asked question of the LCG. ANYONE can FIND a Lonely Cache and receive points during the period it is listed. Only the 1st person would receive Bonus points, such as replacing the container with the COs permission or reporting TBs missing, greater than 1 or 2 years since found, etc.
Only 1 person or team can receive points for a Cache Rescue.
So, anyone finding that “lonely” can file a report and get the points! You can also get points if you DNF it too, but not if it is Disabled or Archived before you found it (of course!).
Thanks for asking that question once again, so we can clarify it. I’m sure it will be asked again on Saturday.
Hopefully, we will see how those numbers are applied to keeping quality caches in Wisconsin, which is the main goal of the game!
Here’s the FTP for Friday the 10th.
WisKid stills puts out the LCG List, as he always has. When he was local, he would also send naughty logs to the COs of the lonelies with issues. If there was no response from the CO, it would be Archived and the cache would move to the Cache Rescue List. That is no longer being done by our local reviewers or WisKid. It is done on occasion by other cachers, but not often enough. I’m not faulting the Reviewers, as they are volunteers, but it did help keep the list “fresh” when dead caches were removed.
:ftp: on page 755!
Just checking.
