Look at the LCG players list and ask a couple players to assist, via pm.
Look at past LCG Event pages for ideas or create something different.
Ask BOD what your budget is.

Usually, the Top 10 are honored, or Top 5 with a few attendance prizes. Look at the “Will Attend” responses as the Event approaches.
The WGA has merchandise that it could provide as prizes, with BOD approval.Hope that helps!

FTP for Saturday! A trip through the worm hole!
When organizing the LCG Event, it is a good idea to see where the top 5 finishers are located. If you’re going to recognize their efforts, it would be nice to reward them with the least amount of “drive time”, since they probably put on the most miles during the year, in their effort to keep quality caches in Wisconsin.
Having said that, there is no set format for the LCG Event, other than the creativity of the host(s). The BOD approves the financial end of it, once the expected expenses are presented. Select a host and date, then move forward. Back-to-back venues do have some risks. The “I was there last year” crowd will not go. The social event cachers will!
I also realize that the snafu on the website in the summer frustrated a few players, myself included.
Any interested parties can pm me for info from past Events. I’ll be glad to add to the good advice already given above. No smart phone; limited contacts on FB to keep out-of-state family informed, as well as a backup for pictures. I DO consider some geocachers as ‘family’!
