In the USA…YES! Everyone that gets a Smartphone has to try out that geo-thingy app and Poof! Your TB is pocketed!
Now, in Europe, cachers tend to move at a slower pace and take the time to research the fun before beginning.
If you want your TBs to move, try to get them across the pond for a higher percentage of safety!
Our TB from the 1st WGA TB Race is still moving after 2 years. It’s in France right now. After 7 years of caching, most of our others are MIA.
Grin and bare it! WTG on 9K! 😀
Congrats on 5K! We’re right behind you! 😀
Great job, Steve! Not only as a BOD, but as a concerned Dane County citizen, as well!
Great pix! 😀
I noticed your EC at Pewit’s Nest SNA. I held an Event there last summer, since cache placements aren’t allowed. One of Wisconsin’s best kept secrets!
Looking forward to returning to that SNA for the fall colors.WELCOME! 😀
Some cachers don’t like Traditional caches, so they do multis, puzzles, letterboxes, etc.

SOME CACHERS DON’T LIKE EVENTS, SO THEY FIND OTHER WAYS TO BE ACTIVE IN GEOCACHING, LIKE TRADITIONALS, MULTIS, PUZZLES, LETTERBOXES, ETC.
The purpose of holding Events is to get like-minded cachers together to socialize! I’ve never been a fan of going to an Event at 9 AM for 15 minutes, going caching until 11:30 AM, cooking lunch, going caching from 1-4 PM, popping back to maybe win a “prize”, cook leftovers, and go home. We can always go caching on days when there aren’t Events! We ALL do that!
If your not a social person, don’t attend! Or pop in for a few minutes to get an “Attended” credit and leave! Drop a TB for the Race and leave! I don’t mean to sound harsh, but the WGA can not adjust their Event to make non-sociable people suddenly feel warm and fuzzy! It doesn’t work that way, and no one should expect it to!
I will be attending the WGA Picnic on Saturday, at my leisure. I might stay all day, or I may not. Introduce yourself to me, if you see “JimandLinda” on my nametag. I’ll be as honest and straight forward as possible in our conversation!
By the way… as I attend more Events, I actually know fewer and fewer cachers because of the turnover in the participants. Seems strange, but we know cacher names better than real names in this crazy addiction!
There is a special FORM to meeting new people, in any circumstance. The easiest topic for everyone is themselves!
So try this FORM and see how it works:
F-Family – married?single? kids? siblings?
O-Occupation- where do you work? what do you do there? do you like it?
how long have you worked there? what do you enjoy in retirement?R-Recreation-Do you have any other interests besides geocaching? what
are they?M-Message- Share some info about yourself!
FAMILY-OCCUPATION-RECREATION-MESSAGE= F.O.R.M.
Give it a try!
Headed to the Dells Thursday/Friday for some R&R. I’ll be looking for some colors while wearing a WGA sweatshirt!
Fall…bring it on! 😀
GC5EAB
GC5EAB Joint on the Point. You need to approach it from the Duluth side. Nice family cache!
After 294 days, our TB is moving again! Sometimes, the e-mail message works! 😀
Last years Racer has been moving full bore around Europe, too!Stockade Motel 1616 E 2nd St. in Superior, right on Hwy. 2 near Barker Island. Inexpensive with no frills. No pool, no breakfast…just a place to sleep and clean up. Haven’t been there recently but give them a call. (715)398-3585
Yup! SPAM! Now, if a BOD or Squirrel will visit the site, it will go POOF!
WTG on 5K! 😀
