Nice article! And photo-proof that BakRdz is still alive!! 😉
We’re down a bit, since I did some LCG running the last 3 years. Having to go farther from home base for caching is an issue, too, so I try to grab some between work appointments.
We have 18 days left on the grid, with 4 in January and 8 in February. Not sure how I missed November 25th, but that should be easier to fill than if we have a blizzard on February 29th!
Sure has been easy walking this December, compared to the last 2 Decembers! 😀
WTG! 😀
Merry Christmas! 😀
WTG! I talked to Dave last Saturday! 😀
Thank you for your expectations of an elected Board Member!
Since alot of the communication is technology based, it cuts down on the expected mileage of the BOD. While we are expected to attend WGA sponsored Events, we also have the right to (in the event that we cannot attend) send a proxy with another Board Member.
Restructuring the WGA into districts would ease the expectations of having to attend EVERY WGA sponsored Event. The Board decides on how many mandatory meetings the BOD should physically attend each year.
The sharing of information can be done on a daily basis in the Forums, thus reducing the amount of physical meetings/year.I will be happy to attend as many WGA sonsored Events as possible, as well as member hosted Events. Whether or not I seek cache hides on an Event day is a non-issue. There are plenty of other days in the year to cache!
Thank you for service on the WGA BOD. If elected, I look forward to your input and experience as a past Board Member!
An interesting preface to your question, regarding ” lack of familiar faces”!
I think many of us that have read the Forums for the last few years remember a few “biting remarks” in some of the posted topics. There are as many emotional responses to topics as there are practical, both good and not so good. That’s what the Forums are for.
To answer your questions:
First, I would like to address the member face-to-face, if possible, to listen to their exact issue(s). I realize there is alot of technology available to avoid this, but that can actually be the problem. The Forums ARE technology based, and sometimes members feel safer/braver posting things they would be uncomfortable saying to your face. After listening to the member, I would not rush to solve the problem, but seek a bit more info on the issue(s). I would then form an opinion and share it with the member and let them decide for themselves how they wanted to proceed.
I would not discourage anyone from reading the WGA Forums. I recall being called out on the floor for a comment I made last summer on one of the topics. After apologizing for ruffling some feathers, I received a retraction and the explanation was that the member hadn’t visited the Forums in several monthes, and was a little behind in the info. Enough said.
The Forums are for information, opinions, and comments. When used for that, they are an effective means for members to share and communicate over a large geographic area.
Happy 10th! 😀
WTG on 2.1K! 8)
I can move it north before Christmas. I just need a dropping point for it. I wouldn’t want anyone getting caught doing 26 in a 25 mile speed zone! 😯

He better start burying himself in the mud!!
The sign of a true leader is passing the torch at the proper time. Thanks for the time you put in, and good luck in the future!
Alright, how ’bout this?
Just saw a log with no words. Just 1 picture of some tots rummaging through an ammo can. Is that OK? Spoiler? It didn’t say TFTC or SL. Did they SL?
Just wondering…
