Congrats, Mr. President! 😀
I believe only the individual CO can answer that. I have Archived/Adopted out some of ours just to help with maintenance.
One of the first questions I ever asked on these Forums was how long should a cache be placed until you Archive it? A few chastised us for even thinking that a hide should only be placed for only 2-3 years! It should be there forever!
A few agreed with our policy. And some admitted that we would probably Archive some after a few weeks or monthes, due to issues. They were right! With more cachers helping out on maintenance by carrying logs, baggies, and containers, we can keep about 200 active and maintained. Since the pace slows in winter, it is a good time to check on a few, too. If your fixing more than your caching, that might be a clue, too!
Congrats on 1K! I was looking for your 1K log from “Lost Falls”! Guess I know why I didn’t find it! 🙂
I remember this cache, as I dropped the CO’s TB here that had made it back from Key West. Before he could get it, POOF! Off it went to Texas!
Memories (for some) from the Cold War.
WTG, Wi-Hi! 😀
WTG on 1K! 8)
WTG! The 1K Klub jackets are STILL on back order! 😉
Left menu; first blue file that says, “Cache of the Month”. Click on the stae map where your nominee is located. The GC # is needed to nominate it, and the name.
Remember that a COTM nominee must be published more than 90 days to be eligible, and you must have found it, to nominate it. Other guidelines are posted on the page. 🙂Check who the closest Rescuers are, then pm them to see if they are interested. If they are, POST IT. If not, I guess it’s your geotrash to figure out!
This may sound kinda like sandbagging, but it seems to be an isolated incident. Your cache…your call.
WTG! 😀
