The International Visitor Center between Horicon and Mayville is hosting a Geocaching 101 on Wednesday, April 6th, at 7 PM.

It is an intro to geocaching. There will be no GPS unit instruction, other than basics, as each GPS owner should learn to use their own GPS unit, since there are many different models.
But basic caching will be the focus, and it is geared toward the new cachers, especially families. Shouldn’t last more than 1 hour, as kids get restless. A geocaching DVD on the big screen will be the main event, with a simple handout to take home, and time for questions and answers.

American Pickers bought a salvaged “iron cross” a few weeks back. Thought it was strange to buy a grave marker on cable TV, but…oh, well.

Didn’t mean to draw attention away from the milestone! 😆

The Seton TB Hotel in Neenah is a 5 gallon pail, with a screw on top. They also screwed a slice of wood about 4″ thick to the lid, so it takes some effort to put the top on/off correctly. Also makes good camo! It was always dry the many times we traded trackables there. They did use ziplock bags, to keep the swag and trackables seperate.

Seemed to work for them!

The police may be a bit “touchy”, after one of their finest was killed recently. Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan… The officers are a close family, doing a job I wouldn’t want.

Glad it worked out, zuma and Kspud.

I better do some maintenance before you head out!

Room for more hides, too. I was taping some containers today while waiting for Linda. I know of a nice stretch on the trail that is still void of caches.
