Oh, joy! Lake flies are back! 😯
Way to go, s/s! I always do stretching exercises and “googles” before trying your hides. An s/s find is a feather in our caps! Keep up the good research. But give us a traditional now and then, just for variety! 😆
Cute as a TB’s ear!! 😀
Congrats on 1.5 K!!
I’m tempted to pull some of my Fondy caches, just to see what you’ll come up with next!
Jerry that rides a motorcycle, hmmm? I wonder… 😕
Welcome to the hunt!
Disappointing. 🙁 But I feel better now, knowing it wasn’t my eyesight! 😉
The “Will Attend”s are trickling in, and there is usually a last minute surge. So I predict 625 and about another 40 that will show up on that day. With ideal weather, it could be more.
Way to go, Dave! 😀
I’d like to see him as a sideline commentator, or “common tator”! Put him on the side of the field where the losing team is, and let him ask “colorful” questions, like “How’s the bow hunting in New York City”, or “How much Ben-Gay do you put in a rookies jock”, you know, important things like that. He would be fantastic at the unpredictable comments, especially with all his years of bantering with the other players.
Football is competitive entertainment! Let him entertain us, as well as adding his years of experience to the game. For him to retire and ride his tractor for the next 50 years would be a waste.Congratulations on a very satisfying milestone! 😀
jjcool719 and I went caching near Wild Rose this morning. He mentioned that he has never seen a tick. WOW! That changed today!
We must have brushed off 50-75 ticks from our outerware in the 2 1/2 hours we did the “Walk on the Wildside” series! While logging the finds at home around 3:00, one went crawling across the computer table surface! By then, I had removed all clothing and washed them.
My question…
Will the ticks die in the wash? Is one water temperature better than another? Should your clothing be removed outside your home upon return? ❓There could be preliminary information offered on line, so the leaders won’t have to “sit through a class”. But they will need to instruct the youth, so listening will need to be the precursor to teaching. I did purchase the Geocaching DVD, and it is a practical tool for guiding new cachers.
Congrats and Happy Birthday! Good to meet you in Appleton this winter! 😀
I. too, have been doing some thinking on this, since we are only 1 mile from the EAA.
But 7000 getting exposed to geocaching, in an orderly fashion, has my head swimming! Plenty of ground for cache hiding, but how do you search for caches without every attendee standing in line?
The West Bend Cash Bash had 300+, and a few of those had groups of 2 or 3 waiting near GZ after the cache was rehidden. Of course, that was only one aspect of the Event, and it was all cachers.
I was wondering if the Geocaching could be offered as a Scout Leader Workshop. After the gathering, it could be taught to the Scouts in their teens, according to the guidelines taught at the Workshop. That way, one adult could pass on what was learned to each subgroup of Scouts in there home town, if they wanted to. If not, they would still have some knowlege of the sport.
I would be willing to hide a few temps on the grounds before the Event.
Welcome DON!
I started by looking in the Hide and Seek a Cache, and entered my zip code. That’s all it took to find the nearest 100 caches to home. Since I was rehabbing from knee surgery, I used the stars (*) for difficulty/terrain to ease into it.
If you start with a 4 or 5 * cache, you will get frustrated fast! But if your daughter is with you, you will learn the “ropes” twice as fast.Have fun! 😀
