We have a white elephant gift exchange. Everyone brings an item that is wrapped up and we put the presents in a pile on a table. We then draw numbers to see who goes first. The second person can either open another present or steal the first one. This continues until all the gifts are open. Then the fun begins! The last person to open a gift has their choice of all the items, followed by the second to last, and so on, until the person with the #1 gets the final say in what gift they get at the end.
The rubber chicken makes an appearance every year! It is a tradition we look forward to every year. Any Holiday event that brings family together for food and fun is a blessing. 😀The cat said I needed to grab a FTF this a.m. (Cats are family, too!)
Happy Thanksgiving!April is a great birth month! 😀
A good area of the stae for a milestone! Congrats on the finds. 😀
2 K’s are better than 1! Congrats!!
Unfortunately, “pirates” that plunder caches is, believe it or not, part of the original cache game. It is frowned upon, but it has also taught cachers to hide the cache even better than before.
I most definitely do NOT support cache plundering, but it happens.
All we need is a yardarm or a short plank for these scurvies to take a long walk off of. We can only hope it is a plague that is localized, temporarily, and doesn’t become widespread. Good luck to those who have been plundered. You have our sympathies. 🙁Only 1 month ago we applauded you on 6300… Congrats!
$2.06 in Royalton, west of New London.
Congrats on 1K+200!!
After reading these gas prices, and applying what we’ve experienced over the last few monthes, I have reached some conclusions:
Car owners would always talk about what it cost to “fill-up”.
It finally got so expensive that they would only put in $x amount of dollars each time they stopped for fuel (say $20).
They would figure out how to stretch that $20 of gas instead of driving until the next “fill-up” was needed.
We are now evaluating our driving needs and still putting in the same $20, but we are getting more fuel for the money while not doing any unnecesary driving. If we want to keep these prices in check, we need to keep these good gas budgeting practices going. We were forced to do it, but if we do it by choice, we can keep the price managable and get in alot more caching!
Isn’t that the point, after all? (Saw $2.19 today)
decdogg a.k.a.Rose and the thorn are going “global”! 😯
Welcome to the WGA! After spending a couple hours yesterday “on the hunt” with you, I know you will be an asset to the Caching community. And marc was wondering if the WGA info he had at the Event would inform new cachers about the State Association…TADA!! It Works! 😀
I’d love to hear the stories… 😯
Nice coin… and 1 is NOT enough! Grab a handful and get ‘m going.
I believe that most cemeteries are run by cemetery associations or are owned by churches as part of their property. Records must be kept on the purchase price of cemetery lots, as it is illegal to buy and resell lots for a profit. These same associations can set their own rules as to hours of admittance.
It is my opinion that cemeteries allow 24 hour visitations by family members as a courtesy to grievers. I have known some teenage grievers who just HAD to talk to Dad, and went to his grave in the middle of the night for comfort. This is why I don’t believe in nighttime WSQ seeking.
The City of Waupun patrols the Forest Mound Cemetery because of past vandalism.
If you aren’t comfortable doing a WSQ hide, then don’t. But there is alot of history to be shared. Why else would people put out flags and symbols but to draw attention to the accomplishments and the legacy left by past generations.
We owe it to the families of those interred to be respectful and take some time to learn from past generations, as part of our cache visits in Wisconsins cemeteries. -
