Just a few more parks to go. How does one prove their finds and how does one actually acquire the pathtags? How much do they cost?

Well, guess I’m pretty much talking to myself here, but at least that way I know I’m being heard. I’ve been picking my way through this project tiny steps at a time and so far, so good. Previously, I had done all my writing and gathering of info ahead of time and saved it to be transferred, so I don’t have to do that again. With the official builder, I kept getting the darn error message whenever I tried to re-open my work and continue. With this new builder, I’ve opened and closed it after editing/building multiple times with no issue at all. I have a loooong way to go yet before asking a couple people to try it out with their various devices, but hopefully it will be coming. Though I can’t end it as planned originally, I think I can follow it through and find a reasonable place for the hide. My original choice fit the theme a lot better, but I’m probably the only one who even cared abou that!

I have used Earwigo.net extensively. I know this thread is five years old. But i you didn’t get a cartridge going and want to pick it back up, let me know. You have my email address and connected on the FB so just send me a message with your questions.

Or, use my universal Wonder Wherigo cartridge..

    🙄

No wonder One Paddle Short took his marbles and ran home.

I doubt you do but since you asked.. 😉 It was the result of a mob related series of geocaches from back in 2007. Kind of stuck.

In my opinion your eponymous posts are unnecessarily confrontational, particularly since your point of contention only relates to one cache. I don’t know One Paddle Short from Adam but I wouldn’t presume to call them “arrogant,” etc.

As is your reply. I’ve moved on. Merely looking for what others thought. Isn’t that the point of forums?

    Hmmmmmmmm…

Maybe they are still listed as caches on another site?

Why are you looking for them anyway? Just curious…Simply working off an old query, or….??? You mention cacheS…plural….???

Either way, they aren’t published on geocaching.com any more. Now, I have logged archived caches as found that I’ve done rescue missions on but if the owner didn’t allow it, so be it. Move on, more important things in life to do.

If you think the caches should be removed, file a rescue mission on this site and a reviewer will look at it.

How far in advance do you plan a 650 mile roadcruise? Yes, it was archived in the window between when the PQs were created and when the trip took place. Only one cache in question as it relates to me but the CO archived ALL of his caches because he didn’t like TFTC logs. Since he left at least the one container in the woods, I presume that he left them all. I challenge all Wisonsin cachers that reside in this same area to determine how many of the caches are still littering the landscape.

They’ve been contacted, slow to respond. I just don’t understand the utter and complete bitterness about needing logs on caches to conform to some standard that he finds acceptable. Is that arrogance or what. I own a couple hundred caches myself and would love it if every one of the logs were top notch. But that’s not reality and I can’t imagine getting into a pissing match over it.

Speaking of GOOD log writers, One Paddle Short is one of the best log writers I know! Informative, interesting, and gracious. I nominate him for a special “Attaboy” prize.

One Paddle Short archived all of his caches because he was tired of the TFTC logs. Funny thing is, he left all of his geo-junk in the woods and is refusing to honor Found It logs on his “now-archived-but-still-in-the-woods-caches”. Nice eh? I thought since he’s deleted my valid found it logs about a dozen times now that I’d call attention to him here to see what you all think.

in reply to: River Road Contest caches? #1902126

River Road caches in Minnesota archived because they were part of the now complete 2008 MN State Park Geocaching Challenge. New challenge coming in May but don’t know if they’ll affiliate with the River Road Association.

Doing the Great River Road Challenge(s) in September if all goes well.

You choose to go on a 650 road trip through cheese and Packer territory just to grab a single cache so you can attain FTF bragging rights for another geocaching challenge.. and you’re from Minnesota.

Optional seed caches are allowed; caches REQUIRING that you place a seed are not allowed. When considering a seed cache, please think about whether the area where you will place it will benefit from an explosion of new micro caches (or place a seed cache with bigger containers, such as GC100AX).

So, if I got this right, I can’t have a “required” seed cache even if I make the cache an ALR, mystery, puzzle, whatever your favorite term, is.

Isn’t the percentage of bats WITH rabies higher than that of bats WITHOUT rabies?

Yes, this is a sick world. But not because some geocacher carried a handgun or two.

In south eastern MN, about 30 minutes south of metro area…

    Cannon River Bend GC138K7

and its five other sister caches. This one is disabled at the moment but will be active in the very early spring.

One way to get the message across is to use one of the geocache rating systems. Give it a whirl if you’d like.
