Why wait until Saturday? Â I have been sporting blaze orange for awhile now.

Iâm posting here to start a conversation on what this will look like and to see if there is anyone out there that would like to be involved. Date Iâm considering: Saturday June 14, 2025 Location: Sheboygan County Museum grounds Activities:
- Geocaching 101 Workshop
- Compass Adventure Workshop
- Geocaching Through the Years pop-up display (tech, containers, travel bugs, etc)
- Geocacher âBaseball Cardâ making (theme of first geocache in WI)
- Satellite Guided hikes through Tellen Sculpture Garden and to location of original/tribute cache
- Trading Table
- Creative log book
- New local caches, themed by Sheboygan County History
- Local food trucks/food
Thoughts?
It is a great idea however, not many use the forums as much anymore. Â Social Media took it over. Â If you are on Facebook, I highly recommend posting this to âGeocachers in Wisconsinâ to gain the most visibility.
FTP for the Voting Day of Nov. 5th I walked down to the city hall to vote early this morning, but the line was too long to wait outside and will return after 8 am. Good to see a robust turn out! Get out to Vote!!
So glad I voted early in person. Â I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Â Definitely disappointed that Kennedy was still on the ballot though after dropping out awhile back. Hope voters donât select him or that is a waste of a vote.
So I tried again from a desktop and it presents a box labeled Source, in which I am supposed to type something, but I am not sure what. I did download to the desktop and also tried copy and paste.
I am on my iPhone, using Mobile Safari. Iâll do a test upload of a photo below. My 4th grandchild and me.
I did notice something, looks like a limit of 4MB, so my upload failed. Â Here is a screenshot of it much smaller.

Sorry, it wonât let me edit the post, nor post a photo. Hmm. I never used to have trouble with this⊠đ€š
You should be able to edit the post. Â It is a bit shaded and above the profile pic, on a mobile device anyway.
How big in size is the photo you are trying to upload?
My guess is no more posts here. . .
Honestly very few use the forums anymore. Social Media has become the norm.
With that said, I bet my life savings that there wonât be a new post on this thread until tomorrow at some point.
I can send my PayPal or Venmo so that you may send your life savings to me. đ
Wow, I had a couple of extremely strong storms last night. Â Lots of tree damage in my community, and whatever wasnât nailed down and light enough went somewhere else. Â Neighborhoods appear to have other peopleâs things in their yards. Â Some power outages. Â My neighborhood looks to have been spared.
Hate to interrupt the normal conversation here, but this fits in with the conversation we are having about the LCG. It seems Oregon is pushing to have caches five or more years unfound archived if not maintained. Well, that is a bunch of my caches out there. I do have a few people maintaining things for me, and a couple of hikers that are trying to finish my hides along the OC&E Trail, but havenât got to the eastern end yet. The caches on the trail are containers that are built for the long haul. Locations are solid. It is like all the lonely ones we have up in northern Wisconsin. https://coord.info/BMDHC5A
Oregon reviewers follow this specific Wiki and maintain it. I see no mention of 5 years or more of not found t be archived. https://gcwiki.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/GEO/pages/529840/Oregon
I have over a dozen copies of this email: âHi from geocaching.com,
It looks like your cache has not been found in at least 5 years. One of the responsibilities of a cache owner is to maintain the cache. Please visit the cache to confirm that it is in place and ready to be found, then log a note on the cache page that you have visited the cache location and itâs available to find.
I will check back in a few weeks to make sure the cache is available for cachers to find. If there is not a log on the cache page that you have checked on the cache I will have to disable it at that time.
If the cache is no longer available, you may choose either to replace the cache in the same location or archive the cache so it no longer shows up as available to find.
Thanks for understanding.
Sincerely,
ThunderEggs Volunteer Geocaching.com Reviewerâ
Well, what I think the reviewer is trying to say and perhaps needs to be worded more correctly is that cache maintenance (per HQ) should be performed at least once per year by the cache owner, or someone who is also a designated person to check on cache. Â What the reviewer is probably saying is nobody has visited in 5+ years, and that could include the CO. Â It really doesnât matter what the CO thinks, itâs really what is in the logs. Â Cache maintenance logs count as a visit.
Hope that helps..

FTP for Friday! Will the LCG drought ever end?
Hey JimandLinda,
I personally do not know the status of the LCG other than they are working on things as they have the time to do so. Â The board is always looking for volunteers to help support various things, including the LCG. Â If you would like to help, or find out more information, I would suggest reaching out to them by email at [email protected]

Hi John,
Reviewing the ByLaws show in order President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
There are two events in Wisconsin Rapids next week that are not shown on the events calendar to the right on these pages. They are: Mini Golf and Greet (GCACGDK) on Monday, August 28, and Make a Bollard Buddy E-Vent (GCAC800) on Tuesday, August 29. The Golf one is 10:00 to 1:00 and the Bollard one is 6:00 to 7:00. Central Wisconsin cachers might enjoy attending one or both of these closer events, and others from farther away might also enjoy exploring the area to find a few newer caches.
With Social Media taking over the web, events  are sometimes forgotten to be put in manually  within the website.  That said, itâs quite easy to pull a query in a filter search for upcoming events.
Thanks for the reminder. Â Website is updated.
OK! BigJim sightingS today! Add him to my list of people on here that I have met in person: Sandlanders, Jodibee, Beccaday, LabratâŠam I forgetting someone?
me?? đ€Łđ€·ââïž
I donât know??? Considering we havenât attending a social event in 10 years except for a quick pop in at the Chili Feed in Point this year, I donât know? We did a few when we lived in New Richmond before we headed west. Thatâs where we met Zuma! and Jodibee and a few others I donât think have ever posted on here.
Gotcha! I have been in New Richmond since mid 2006 and in Geocaching since Spring 2013.
