I have an IT background of 20 years before I went into manufacturing for the following 3 years.  I like to see projects through to completion.

I have 2 years of BOD experience currently with the WGA.  So, I bring “working knowledge” to the table.

I like to try and find all cache types. I am a persistent type cacher and am persistent by nature. I am not one that gives up easily in geocaching. As a current BOD member I like to see things through to completion and find ways to get things done. I would continue forward with this if re-elected.

In my current job, previous job, and personal life, 18 years serving on a Boy Scout Troop Committee, and the previous two years on the BOD, it’s all about accountability, communication, and team work.

Team of work is based on accountability and communication.

I am very familiar with working as a Team to accomplish goals.

I believe that makes me an effective BOD member.

            Fun question.

I usually like to be in the drivers seat but I welcome the passenger seat. In the passenger seat there is the opportunity for being the co-pilot, taking in the beauty around you, and keeping an eye on when the destination (cache) is nearby. Looking at a GPS can be a distraction for the driver. I have been in the backseat too, and this is awesome for taking naps, planning, and grabbing things out of the cooler for your fellow riders.

              Hi Mark,

              GREAT QUESTIONS!!

              Goals personally for Geocaching in Wisconsin;

              – To finish the SPS series!
              – To work harder at the WGA GeoArt.
              – Occassionly chip away at the IAT series if I am nearby while working to do the previous two, or because an event brought me close to it.

Goals to accomplish if on the BOD.

              – Yellowstone Trail. I am pretty excited about the idea and want to be heavily involved in working with the current BOD to get this off the ground.

                Hi Marie,

                Awesome question!

The quickest answer is, “Majority Rules”. 😁

Moving forward is the best option and is easy for me to do.

                  Greetings,

Love the “Cat in the Hat” profile picture.

Delegating isn’t hard for me. That said, delgation is usually handled by the President or Vice President, and the Committee Chairs.

Doing things ourselves is always the easiest way but sharing the responsibilities or tasks is the best stress reliever. It’s also enjoyable working with others with the task at hand.

I have been on the BOD coming up on two years now.

No real uncertainty with anything other than the current pandemic and working with it when trying to plan the future. The struggle can be real though when it comes to getting to know, and working with someone new. Everyone is different, and everyone has ideas, opinions, etc. Its important to listen, respect, and have fun.

Currently the WGA uses committees and has for awhile. I am all about the use of committees. Mostly they help vs hinder. Some committees are good for BOD only and some are good to have membership involved in the committees.

I do advocate having committees as the entire BOD doesnt need to be involved until the committee chair is ready to bring it to the BOD should it need approval. The BOD meets once per month and committee updates are given around that time.

Setting up a Committee is usually done by the current BOD and members are encouraged to join in on a Committee if so desired and approved by the BOD.

                        Hi Hack1of2,

Historically I believe it’s been mostly the BOD behind the scenes whereas you get a couple volunteers for events. I would have to look back through the years, to see if any member involvement happened beyond that. To get membership involved in some areas where the BOD can direct vs do, can be extremely challenging. Unless retired, people have lives (not saying retired people don’t have lives as they do as well) where it can be family, employment, other things, etc., and most are unable or unwilling to invest time into something. To serve on a committee as a member, there needs to be commitment from that individual. I will continue to try to get membership involved if elected.

Myself, being a current Board Member would favor 3 year terms. In my personal experience the first year is learning. My first year just happened to be when the COVID pandemic began. That alone was a different kind of year while learning. So, here I am on year 2 and I have learned so much more what it really means to be a Board Member. So, now am faced with the election coming up very soon. I have thoroughly enjoyed serving on the WGA Board and plan on running for the Board again.

I must be lucky as I haven’t had any of mine go missing completely. That said, I don’t put GeoCoins into the wild. I have seen proxies of coins in the wild though. GeoCoins are worth real money depending upon the age of them. Look at what people were willing to pay at silent auction at 2021 Cache Ba$h. I stopped looking when they hit $70.

Bart, please continue with the TB Race. Would hate to see you not do this as you have a lot of fun. Just use a plain dog tag or cachinz tag with a traveler attached.

Try these two.  One is in .doc format, and one is .pdf format.

This really is a cool idea for a Pathtag.
